If we never did the Nazr for Malik & Lee deal, Nazr would be our very capable backup center, and we would not have needed to sign JJ. Personally, I like Lee, and think he can be a positive for this team, but right now he's sitting on the reserve list. If you could, would you undo the Nazr for Malik/Lee trade and JJ signing? We'd have a lot less in crappy contracts, and a better backup center.

actually, if we had nazr, we would've traded him in the curry deal.

no. i think we still would have signed someone else for center, very possibly still jj. and we may possibly have not pursued curry then. plus no david lee. plus no #1 coming up next year as well.

I can't vote on that because what you failed to mention is that Nazzy would have been getting paid about 7 or 8 million over the next 5-6 years. Thats between 40 & 50 million for a backup. Also, with the Curry trade we would have not had a pick at all next year.

Would I rather have had Nazzy or James? Of course. But its not quite as clear cut, there are larger ramifications than what you've led on to.

this is a trick question right? I'm still of the opinion that Lee is better than Nazr NOW...and it will prove out by mid season.

great point. Woulda been Nazzy and Sweets for Curry.

But we woulda still had Tim Thomas to bang some 3's for us. He coulda played decently for us, and he is a 13 mil expiring contract too.

I'm of the fishy opinion that JJ is grossly overpaid, however, I still think in a disciplined game against a team in the playoffs playing possession basketball, I'd rather have James.

james is a big fat waste of space. there's NOTHING he brings that jackie butler can't do right now, and for about $29.5 mil cheaper. right now, he's a big boy that's good for 6 fouls and 15 mins of action. he's 30 - his value is only going to get worse.

I hate the guy, but lets give it some time. Nothing we can do about it now other than hope he gets better!

WTF? You guys are sleeping on Big Game?

Jerome James is the best thing the NBA had going since Michael Jordan, and you pool-putt so-called Knicks fans better recognize and recollect!!

In all seriousness, I truly believe that Big Game will improve and surprise alot of his critics. If he can cut down on the fouls, it would be a great start!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Do you dare me to say one bad thing about this team?

Did you just say that Tim Thomas is capable of doing something. That's the funniest thing I read all day. That guy has p_ussy written all over him. If we would've just used Nazy in the Curry deal, then I definitely would rather it have gone the way it went.

I REALLY like the Knicks City Dancers. That's from the heart man.

First of all, I don't think that was what he meant. Second of all, I don't think that was your heart. Your heart is located a little higher.

How the HELL do you know that we would have included him in that deal?
What a ridiculous statement!

I would undo the JJ signing, but not the Nazr for two first round draft picks trade. Jackie Butler and Channing Frye should be our capable backup centers, not Nazr.

nazr would've entered this season in the final year of his deal. and probably could've been used in getting someone like swift or something like that. i don't think we would've signed him to an extension and isiah saying something like that (which he did at the q&a's), is really a bad trait of this management b/c we don't HAVE to re-sign anybody and we don't HAVE to trade expiring contracts but isiah put it in a way like we did.

but that's neither here nor there.

everything happens for a reason and not making this trade means we may not have drafted frye or something like that so who knows what kind of team we'd have.
