THis has yet to come up, but its gonna, so lets deal with it: Whom would Knickfans prefer with a 65 year old Larry, A 29 year old Marbs, and Mature rookies. And lets assume Curry is not a "dead man walking", but a healthy young man!

Assuming Curry is healthy, definitely Curry. we have already seen flashes of post dominance on the NBA level for him, and I don't view Bynum as necessarily having more potential.

But Imagine if we had both?

We could be set at center for the next 100 years! OMG!

Bynum because I do believe this team is a ways away from competiting, even with Curry.

Unless Curry realizes his 'potential' and suddenly becomes an all star, unstoppable center, we are still some major talent away. In 4 years, he has not quite given any clear indications that that is a likely scenario.

As for Marbury being 29, oh well. Even at 33-34 he can be an effective force on an upgraded roster.

As for Bynum being better than Curry- that's unknown. He might be worse, he might be no more than a JJ in five years. But, he might be better than Curry in five years.

Curry. We know what he is right now. We dont know what Bynum is right now. I might choose different in 4 years depending on how good Bynum does over the 4 years.

It's a toss up for me so I vote both. I think they both have the same ceiling if Curry rebounds. The big difference is shotblocking. Bynum will block shots. Curry is a pretty good defender if you talk to people who have league pass. Wish we had both Like I said before the draft, even if we had to wait 3yrs for Bynum to develop, the payoff could've been huge. Frye could be a better complete to Curry but thats if Frye surprises us and is actually able to rebound a ton and block a ton of shots and defend stronger guys.

we might be ready to compete for a play off spot, but I don't see the caliber of talent on this team as was demonstrated in the finals by both detroit and san antonio

this is not really debateable--two different ideas. if we drafted bynum, we couldve still traded for curry. the only reason i wanted to draft bynum was because i feel he will be what they call a five tool guy in baseball--he can rebound block shots intimidate score dribble pass, and hes highly intelligent. He has all the fundamentals, he 7+ 275 and only 17--hes much bigger than Shaq or Duncan at the same age. Hes athletic yet not as explosive as Shaq, diffetent type of player--he will rely on fundamentals long arms and his enormous size. Hes more likely than Curry to be a great rebounder and shot blocker--but again, its two different ideas--bynum is a player for the future, curry is a now player--the knicks are doing things now, we have channing frye and hopefully curry is healthy--thats it

Think of it, a now player at 22 years old at the center position. Curry for sure.

its a little scary though. Curry's age is not the reason he only grabs 5rebs a game and blocks less than a shot. Expecting him to average double-digit rebounds might be asking for a lot. Right now I'm just happy we have a dominant low post player on offense and big bodied presense/solid defender. Now we can add the right pieces and we'll be set or if JJ, Frye & Davis play their roles

i'd gamble that bynum is the entire package, with out the attitude issues and holes in his game curry has. i'd be happy if he's less dominant on offense but does all the little things curry only knows about from watching bball movies.

Patrick for all his weaknesses, could hold his own with blocks and rebounding.

I mean, we keep talking about having a 7 footer at the c position, what good is it if he can't do the things you expect of a 7 foot center, namely rebound and block shots.

I'm with you Nalod. We could have had both. At this point Frye looks
redundant anyway. Probably should have gambled for the big payoff.

I chose Curry, due to his past NBA experiance, Bynum is still unproven in this league.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

22 year olds who can dominate in the post are more valuable than 17 year olds whose major talent is eating.

If Curry had been a Knick before the draft the case for drafting Bynum would have been even more compelling.

Curry is for now and the future, Bynum is foor the future. Curry hands down, I don't see how anyone could think otherwise. Curry is a dominant player now, Bynum is a question mark.

typical Bynum false criticism. Apparently you haven't seen his recent pictures

I live in LA and have seen quite a bit of him. Yes, he lost weight, too, but he gained it very quickly when he dinged his knee and that scared a lot of people. There are more Oliver Millers and Stanley Roberts's than Shaqs.
