i liked it we traded a fat udersized foward for a fat regular sized center
It's funny how this whole world is based on one dummy controlling another, and the leader dummy was chosen by a whole bunch of dummies.

as the lone dissenter at this moment, I don't like the trade based on

1 Risk to Curry's Ticker
2 Loss of TT's contract that might have been moved at the trading deadline for perhaps a better player, or one with less downsize

Its a gamble, and I'd probably walk with our winnings to date.

I do have to admit that its a bit of the 'swing for the fences' kind of move I had wanted IT to make in the draft to select Bynum...

I agree about the Sweetney part but Curry ain't fat. He looked pretty lean last year!

my only concern is zeke's track record in respect to trading for talent as opposed to drafting raw talent.

His drafts have proved much better...That's my only concern.

If we're keeping AD, we can use his contract for that purpose at the trade deadline.

Bad move. Obviously, how you feel about this trade depends mainly on how you feel about Curry. Trading liabilities for greater liabilities makes you worse, not better. Curry's been in the league for 4 years - no defense, no rebounding. He doesn't get up and down the court well. Plays about 25 mpg. He doesn't fit with either an uptempo or a half-court defensive identity. He doesn't make plays for other teammates. In terms of a player, Curry is not a part of a winning philosophy.

The saving grace of the trade is that we didn't give up too much. I'm not high on Mike Sweetney and I would have preferred to let TT's contract expire anyway. 2 second round picks is trivial. And hopefully the first rounder ends up being late as well.

Really, what this move does is completely take us out of the free-agency game in 2007, which we might otherwise have been a part of by dumping Marbury and 1 other contract. But since that was somewhat of a long-shot anyway, the only drawback will be watching Curry underachieve for an extended period of time.

Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Another landslide poll. Seems that many of us are on the same page- liking this deal alot!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

We weren't going to get a better player for TT's contract. I always hate giving up multiple picks, but with an improved team it won't hurt as much. You're talking about a 23 yr old center with potentially dominant low post ability, you have to do it. If this gets screwed up its all on the Knicks medical staff. I'm making the assumption that they will do their due diligence and would not let this through if they weren't sure his heart was ok.
