Larry is a no brainer. Phill has more hardwares than Larry, but Larry proved that he can coach at all levels. He won in college and the NBA. Phill did not win when Jordan retired...Let's see if he can win without Shaq..

I think most coaches past and present will agree with Dido on that one. Phil had success in the CBA but Larry has now done it on so many levels and getting that championship over Phil and going back with all the problems they had put a stamp on his career.

I would choose Larry but Phil has NINE Championships! That's just crazy. We're going to see who's the better coach this year because both are working with parts that don't really fit together yet.

I wanted Phil- perhaps LB will be better with the youth on this squad, but I dunno- he is old and could burn out quickly trying to turn our scrubs into winners.

If he doesn't have ulcers, he will after Craw and Q start launching 3's all game long for half a season.

I would have been happy with either but I definitely had Larry ranked higher in my mind since I think he is a better fit for what we're trying to do.

Phil. I'll take the 9 rings any day of the week, I don't care who was on his teams, he still has to coach the team and he's done a masterful job doing that all these years.

I choose phil for many reasons. First off, he was available!

Larry was under contract and up until a month ago his team was still playing.

I am very happy with Larry!

I choose Larry as well. Phil had absolute studs on his teams. Who couldn't win with Micheal Jordan/Shaq and Kobie! Give me a break. Larry won a championship with a team of unkowns. That goes a long way to me. You'll see this year when Phil will be lucky to make it to the playoffs.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

Larry is a much better choice for this team. I didn't want him at first because I didn't want to give up a draft pick to get him but we got him for nothing! If we had Phil he would've had to trade the entire team in order to win, starting with Marbury. Larry Brown can win with any team with marginal talent and I'd say the Knicks with Steph, Q, Craw, nate and decent bigmen definitely have some talent

Like Larry wouldn't have won as many championships as Phil if he had the talent to coach that Phil has had.

No one knows. I like Larry Brown alot but for everyone to be saying he's such a winner and whatnot, the guy has won one title in the NBA while coaching 7 different teams before the Knicks. He's made the playoffs but he's never gotten the title with anyone except the Pistons. You can't say that about Phil Jackson, he makes the playoffs and he wins.

you know how much I love Phil but you have to admit...What would Phil have accomplished without Jordan, Shaq and Kobe? Larry Brown never had the best team even when he won in Detroit. Phil is very smart using the Knicks once again in order to make more money and then choosing the team with a franchise player already in place. I honestly don't see Phil having any success with our team the way it is currently constructed. If Phil came here there would have to be a lot of changes otherwise his legacy would be at stake. The Knicks would've had to go into full rebuilding mode so that they can use it as an excuse than land the superstar Phil needs. I would've been perfectly fine with that route which is why I wanted Phil. I would love to see Phil take on a Clippers or Nets job for once and take them to the playoffs. A coach can only do so much. He had a good team in Indiana but not as good as the Bulls, Knicks, Rockets etc Look what he did with Philly, a one man team with a defensive ancor and a bunch of role players. Oh I would love to see Phil under those circumstances! I'm happier with Larry right now because I know for the fact he's going to teach the young players on this team how to maximize their potential and play winning basketball. We just have to keep improving the talent level of the team in order to take it the extra step and not be a 1st and 2nd exit team every year.

How many championships does Phil win without Jordan, and if you acknowledge that he would have won fewer, does he even get the chance to coach Shaq and Kobe?

how many championships would jordan have won without Phil? NO ONE KNOWS! all you can base it on is what they have already done, not what if.
