It's time to vote your Knicks into the 2023 All-Star Game!

The 73rd NBA All-Star Game is set to take place on Sunday, Feb. 18, in Indianapolis. The NBA opened the fan voting period on Tuesday, Dec. 19 with its conclusion coming a month from today on Jan. 20. If you haven’t yet, you can go cast your votes already!

The selection process for this season’s ten All-Star starters involves a combination of votes from fans, NBA players, and media members. Additionally, NBA coaches will select the reserves for both conferences once the starters are known. In the voting process, fan votes account for 50 percent, while the remaining 50 percent is split equally between NBA players and media members.

This year also features six “3-for-1” voting days in which fan votes will count three times instead of the usual single token. Those dates are Christmas Day, New Year's Day, January 5, 12, 15 and 19.

Fans interested in voting for the 2024 All-Star starters can do so by using a free NBA ID and submitting one complete ballot daily via NBA.com or the NBA App. Each ballot includes two guards and three frontcourt players from each conference. Regular updates on the voting process will be released on the first three Thursdays of January by the NBA with the final results, including the announcement of the starters, getting broadcast on TNT on January 25.

The reserves, selected by NBA coaches, will be revealed on February 1 during TNT NBA Tip-Off.

The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will be played Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana at 7 p.m. ET.

When it comes to New York Knicks players, the two picks to make with real chances of cracking the squads are more than obvious: F Julius Randle and G Jalen Brunson.

The two are considered strong contenders for the All-Star team with Randle, a two-time All-Star, yet to be named a starter in the event. Brunson, on the other hand, seeks his first selection after being snubbed last year.

Before Randle got the call in both 2021 and 2023, only two other Knicks had earned the right to appear in an ASG spanning the last decade of play: Kristaps Porzingis (2018) and Carmelo Anthony (2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017).

Interestingly, HoopsHype released their All-Start teams based on the Global Rating metric they use to rate players as the season progresses. According to GR, the Eastern Conference squad should feature both Jalen Brunson (21.96 rating, the best among East reserves) and Julius Randle (19.86).

You can find the Global Rating rankings updated daily here. Through Tuesday’s games and considering the full season to date, Brunson is ranked as the 13th-best player league-wide with Randle clocking in 19th.

In the last 30 days, however, Brunson ranks as the 8th-best player in the NBA with Randle ranked 16th overall. Looking at the past 365 days, the pair of Knickerbockers is listed in the 11th and 12th places respectively.
