With the season opener just one day away, a lot of the news surrounding the Knicks have been around the bright outlook of this team, the rumors about a trade for Joel Embiid, and the failure to extend Immanuel Quickley. But amidst all of the rumblings about the team and it’s roster, there was an announcement about the team’s jersey.

Earlier this morning, it was revealed that Sphere Entertainment Company, the entertainment company overseen by Knicks owner and Madison Square Garden Company’s CEO James Dolan, would become the official jersey patch partner for the Knicks.

“The MSG family of companies has an unrivaled portfolio of premium assets, and we are committed to ensuring that the strength of our brands and unique global reach continue to benefit one another in powerful ways,” MSG Sports president and chief operating officer David Hopkinson articulated in a statement.

“This pairing brings together two globally-recognized brands – a revolutionary new venue that is literally changing the way people experience live entertainment, and one of the most recognized franchises in professional sports – to create an innovative partnership at the intersection of sports and entertainment,” he added.

New York previously had Squarespace’s logo on their jersey from 2017-2022 but was, along with the Trail Blazers, Grizzlies, and Wizards, just one of four franchises to not have a jersey patch partner last season.
