This week, the focus is on Ricky Rubio. Rubio is taking time away from basketball right now and it’s unclear when he’ll be back. From a human perspective, the only question is whether Rubio is ok or not and that he’s doing what is best for him. Unfortunately, there are real basketball considerations.

For one, do the Cavs need to go sign a backup point guard? Is that something that have to go spend some of their remaining money on in case Rubio isn’t active this season? Do they need one anyway considering that he’s post-30 with ACL tears in the same knee and didn’t play well last year? And if they do need one, who would be the best option?
