Cleveland Cavaliers Reacts Survey: Caris LeVert’s market

First up this week, we have results on Caris LeVert’s upcoming market. In the survey, 48% of respondents said a fair price for him would be in the $10-$13 million range, while 42% said the $14-16 million range made sense. Only 10% said more $17 million plus would be fair for LeVert.

Free agency is still a ways off. But I wouldn’t be surprised if LeVert is around $17 million or slightly above. The Cavs don’t have the means to replace him one for one in free agency. And a higher number — even on a two-year deal, say at $18 million per — could be useful in trades.

LeVert may really be worth that $10-$13 million figure, which is right around the mid-level exception. But sometimes the realities of the market drives up prices.

Moving on, 31% of respondents say they feel differently about the Donovan Mitchell trade after how he played in the first round against the Knicks.

This is more than reasonable. The loss stings, sure, but it’s still year one. Maybe the pressure gets ramped up for next year, though.

Lastly, 79% of respondents say the Cavs messed up the Kevin Love buyout situation.
