Knicks, 76ers fans clash in vicious scenes during Game 6

The combination of a 9 p.m. tip, two rival fan bases and a dramatic Game 6 had Knicks and 76ers fans on their worst behavior Thursday night.

Two separate videos showed fans acting hostilely toward one another at Wells Fargo Arena, where the Knicks eliminated the 76ers with a 118-115 win.

One video from the Philadelphia Inquirer captured what appears to be a Knicks fan being held back by security guards while trying to approach what appears to be a 76ers fan in the entrance to sections 117 and 118.

The reporter who shot the film tweeted, “It’s hella rowdy at the Wells Fargo Center tonight. Just saw a Knicks fan get thrown out of the arena… at halftime 😂”, before posting the video with the caption: “Like I said, hella rowdy 😂.”

Some fans chanted “Oh, s–t” and “Holy s–t” as the large man in denim shorts was pushed back by five security officials as fans capture the moment on their phones.

As the fan is pushed back, others yell “Get him the f–k out of here” and one fan, in perhaps the true laugh-out-loud moment of the clip, yells, “Budd Hield!”

Fans clapped as the fan is forcibly removed through the concourse.

The second video shows the aftermath of a Knicks fan apparently getting his bell rung — pun intended in Philadelphia — by a group of 76ers fans.

X user @gregarmstrong01, a self-described Knicks fan, captioned the video: “They’re wildin in dude got snuffed out right next to me.”

The video shows three particularly rowdy 76ers fans, who have the high ground — a crucial ingredient for winning a fight — while fourth and fifth Philadelphia fans attempt to play peacemakers.

One of the agitators called the Knicks fans a crude word for an anatomical part.

A group of four Knicks fans is below them, and one fan, apparently the one who got “snuffed out” eventually got up very slowly from an awkward angle.

The woozy Knicks fan seemed to say repeatedly: “That’s a cheap shot.”

It appears the fan filming the video also attempted to diffuse the situation, yelling: “Let it go, bro. We ain’t here to fight, bro.”

Perhaps the second round will be a little more peaceful for Knicks fans as Indianapolis is not as convenient to visit and that midwest charm perhaps will lead to fewer altercations.
