How 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey feels about NBA admitting blown calls in Knicks’ Game 2 win

After he was vindicated by the NBA, Tyrese Maxey is moving on.

Maxey, who was named the league’s Most Improved Player on Tuesday night, said he and the 76ers are no longer thinking about the blown calls and missed timeouts the league admitted to the day after the Knicks’ frantic comeback victory Monday in Game 2 at the Garden.

In its Last Two Minute report issued Tuesday, the NBA determined that Maxey was fouled by both Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart ahead of Donte DiVincenzo’s go-ahead 3-pointer with 13 seconds remaining.

The L2M also stated that Philadelphia coach Nick Nurse should have been granted a timeout before the inbounds turnover that led to DiVincenzo’s bucket.

“We’ve got to let it go,” Maxey told reporters after accepting his award. “We had our time to grieve about it. That’s the past. Like y’all have said, they protect the home court. We have to do the same.

“So, it is what it is. We’ve got to let it go. We can’t dwell on it now. If we dwell on it, in a couple of days, we’ll be down 0-3. We don’t want to be down 0-3.  We can’t leave the games in other peoples’ hands. We’ve got to go out there and take it.”

With the Sixers trailing 0-2, the series shifts to Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4 on Thursday and Sunday, respectively.
