Knicks’ playoff schedule surprisingly includes Passover game at Garden

The Knicks don’t have an opponent yet but their first-round series is scheduled.

The East’s No. 2 seed will open its playoffs against either the Heat or the Sixers on Saturday at 6 p.m. at MSG, a primetime showdown on ESPN but not the marquee TV slot that went to the Lakers-Nuggets on ABC at 8:30 p.m.

The Knicks’ Game 2 is on Monday at 7:30 pm on TNT – the first night of Passover.

Game 3 is Thursday, April 25 on the road at 7:30 pm. on TNT.

Game 4 is Sunday, April 28 on the road at 1 p.m. on ABC.

The times for Game 5 (April 30 at MSG), Game 6 (May 2 on the road) and Game 7 (May 4 at MSG) are to be determined.

All games with the exception of Game 4 also will be broadcast by MSG Network.

The Knicks, who are practicing this week at their training facility in Tarrytown, play the winner of Wednesday night’s game between the No. 8 Heat and No. 7 Sixers.

They’ll be interested viewers.

“Everyone will be watching themselves, and then the way we’ll break it down the next day, so we’ll watch it together in practice,” Tom Thibodeau said.

The coach wouldn’t bite when asked if he has a preferred opponent.

“At this time of the year, they’re both great teams,” Thibodeau said. “When you’re looking at it, people are saying, ‘What about this team, that team?’ If you got this far, every team poses different problems.

“So, we have to be ready. I know you guys think it’s cliche but that’s why you start the season — this is what you’re going to need in the end.

“Build that habit all year long so when you get here, you’re not adjusting. This isn’t the first time we’ve done it. I think understanding what their strengths and weaknesses are, what they’re doing well right now, what we have to do, is a big part of winning.”
