Congratulations to the New York Knicks for Clinching a Playoff Spot

This will get buried by the Daily News Thread, but I thought that it was too important to not give it a spotlight.

Huge congrats to Thibs and the boys for a very cool accomplishment of clinching the playoff spot. It’s a tough Eastern Conference (a tougher Western Conference, but still), and it is a notable achievement that deserves it’s own thread, even if it will get buried by the news thread.

I really want the Knicks to get the third seed (and hopefully for the Sixers to get to the #4/5 seeds). Man, it is crazy how good this Sixers team is with a healthy Embiid. With cap room next year, that could be a scary team. Thank goodness the Knicks are keeping OG, as otherwise, the Sixers would be all over him as a free agent. He’d be a perfect fit there (he’s a perfect fit in a lot of places, since he is such a well-rounded player, and since he can play so many different positions and defend so many positions. I am so happy the Knicks acquired OG).

Anyhow, congrats again to the Knickerbockers! Let’s hope they have a long playoff run this season!

Taking the circumstances into account (injuries, trades, painful farewells and the need to acclimate the new guys) this has been a very, very good season.
Getting to the playoffs was a target but far from a fait accompli at the start of the year.

Kudos to the boys, the new (a little) more flexible Thibs and the FO: this team doesn’t know the word “quit” and is so easy to love.

A quick thought to the traded youngsters (Obi, IQ, RJ, Grimes): we really loved you guys and we still do: OAKAAK.

Are we still going to love Obi if he drops 36 and 12 on us (11-of-18 from the field including 4-of-6 from 3, plus 10 free throws) in a playoff game?

Yes of course.
We traded him (for nothing), he wanted to stay, why I must change my feelings about him? 🙂

I feel like the Sixers are still going to be all over OG as a free agent, which is why we’re going to end up crazy overpaying him.

Weird silence for three games left and playoff seeding undetermined, eh? Probably there is a new daily thread. Probably I should look now. 🙂
