Knicks’ Tom Thibodeau Had Perfectly On-Brand Plans for All-Star Break

New York Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t need to travel far to enjoy his 2024 NBA All-Star break.

The veteran coach dropped a classic answer when asked by reporters on Tuesday where he went during the time off.

“Practice facility,” Thibodeau said. “It’s 72 degrees.”

Right on brand.

Since he entered the NBA as an assistant in 1989, the 66-year-old Thibodeau has gained a reputation as a hard-nosed, defensive-minded coach who pushes his players all season long.

Over 12 seasons as the head coach of the Chicago BullsMinnesota Timberwolves and Knicks, Thibodeau has compiled a 510–379 record with eight playoff appearances.

Thibodeau and the Knicks entered the All-Star break at 33–22, good for fourth in the Eastern Conference.

New York will find out what Thibodeau learned during his exotic vacation at the Knicks’ practice facility when the team returns to the floor Thursday to visit the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.
