Knicks have expressed interest in Bruce Brown, tossed Alec Burks' name around

- by

According to league sources, they have expressed interest in the Toronto Raptors’ Bruce Brown, who they also considered in free agency this past summer. Brown fits the contract requirements (he has a team option for 2024-25), adds defense, can run a pick-and-roll, isn’t afraid of the moment (he helped the Denver Nuggets win a title in June) and is a Thibodeau-minded player — but he also isn’t a shooter.

The Nuggets and Pacers play in 30 minutes. Tyrese Haliburton is OUT. Pascal Siakam has played pretty well in his first two games for Indiana, but they’re still trying to figure out chemistry.
No Bruce Brown now. Expect AG to guard Siakam. Will be a tough but winnable matchup. – 6:39 PM

More on this storyline

The Raptors have posted an initial price point of a first-round selection for Bruce Brown, sources said, after Toronto acquired the veteran as part of its return for Pascal Siakam. But Brown’s contract, a two-year, $45 million balloon payment with a team option for the 2024-25 season, is expected to dissuade several suitors — like Philadelphia, sources said — from sacrificing that level of draft pick when Brown is considered a lower-market player than his salary. For that, Brown appears to be a much stronger possibility for Milwaukee than Murray. -via Yahoo! Sports / January 24, 2024
Then there are the loftier targets, including Dejounte Murray and Bruce Brown Jr., sources said. For Milwaukee to get into the salary ballpark for either difference-maker, the Bucks would have to include Portis and his $11.7 million figure. This sequence of options is quite illustrative of how many front offices’ approach the deadline. -via Yahoo! Sports / January 24, 2024
The Toronto Raptors have two players on their roster the Lakers have interest in as well, sources said: Dennis Schroder and Bruce Brown. Schroder was L.A.’s backup point guard last season before signing with Toronto for the full midlevel exception in the summer. -via ESPN / January 23, 2024
