Zach LaVine Shutting Down Knicks Trade Rumors Before They Even Begin, per Report
The Knicks are always a possible star destination, seemingly connected to any player who may be on the move. However, there appears to be one player who actually prefers to be traded anywhere else, if he’s traded at all.
According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Bulls guard Zach LaVine and his representation are against a trade to New York, should Chicago choose to move on from him. The report states that LaVine’s camp is concerned that Knicks president Leon Rose, who is a former CAA agent, appears to favor CAA clients.
LaVine is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who also represents former Knick Cam Reddish, who was traded away ahead of the 2023 trade deadline following a lack of playing time.
Despite what LaVine or his camp may want, the Bulls and Knicks could still agree to a LaVine trade without his approval. The 28-year-old Bulls guard is entering the second year of a five-year, $215 million contract.
Besides LaVine, the Knicks have also been linked to Clippers forward Paul George as they try and build off 47 wins and a second-round playoff appearance last season. However, if they decide to make LaVine their big addition, New York could be acquiring a player who is less-than-thrilled about the move.
