Julius Randle out for Knicks-Heat Game 1 with injury

Julius Randle isn’t quite ready.

After being declared a game-time decision Sunday morning by Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau due to a sprained ankle, the Knicks ruled Randle out for Game 1 of the team’s second-round NBA playoff series against the Heat, which tips off at 1 p.m.

Randle, who missed the final five games of the regular season with the same injury, reinjured his ankle in the Knicks’ Game 5 win over the Cavaliers.

Randle, 28, had returned to practice in a limited fashion on Friday but Thibodeau said Saturday he hadn’t done much other than shooting.

Meanwhile, the Knicks are getting Quentin Grimes back from a shoulder injury, though he will come off the bench on Sunday.

Obi Toppin and Josh Hart will be in the Knicks’ starting lineup along with Jalen Brunson, RJ Barrett and Mitchell Robinson.

Randle had 13 points, six assists and four rebounds in about 16 minutes before leaving Game 5 against Cleveland.

During the regular season, Randle earned his second All-Star nod in three years, averaging a career-high 25.1 points with 10 rebounds and 4.1 assists on 45.9 percent shooting.
