As much as I hate to see them losing to Phil J. again, honestly, did anyone of you actually thought we could win this game on the road? I was impressed with how they started the game and fought for most of the game. But I didn't think they'd win, even when they were up by 15 points. Don't take me wrong, I'm a Big knicks' fan, but this team just has too much flaws. I wish they will have a successful rebuild and bring back the old knicks' games when they played with heart and energy. Yesterday's game at least showed us what knicks (Chaney's) offense was capable of and the new KT in recent games.

On the other hand, we gained a game on Houston and Clippers yesterday on the Lottery Meter:

Team W L PCT STREAK L10

Chicago 47 16 0.746 WON 5 7-3
Memphis 46 16 0.742 WON 1 9-1
Golden State 43 17 0.717 WON 1 8-2
Denver 40 19 0.678 LOST 2 7-3
Atlanta 39 22 0.639 WON 2 6-4
Cleveland 40 23 0.635 WON 1 5-5
Houston 39 23 0.629 LOST 1 5-5
New York 38 23 0.623 WON 1 7-3
Miami 33 28 0.541 LOST 1 3-7
Toronto 35 30 0.538 WON 1 9-1
Washington 33 29 0.532 WON 3 8-2
Phoenix 33 30 0.524 WON 1 5-5
LA Clippers 31 32 0.492 LOST 2 4-6

As much as i hate to say it, the Knicks may start blowing games soon to get a better lottery seeding. Hopefully we can get Yao Ming anyways based on the considerations China may ask for, but if not, i like Drew Gooden or Chris Wilcox.

I really don't think that the NBA is going to say, "Okay China, since you want to watch Yao Ming, we'll just put him on the Knicks," I think whatever team drafts him, the NBA will set something up so that China can see him but I seriously doubt China will ask for him to be placed on the Knicks and if they do, I doubt the NBA or the other owners of lottery teams would allow it.

I think Yao Ming will end up in Denver, I'm 85% sure about that.

Based on the standing i think Ming will go number two so i like Memphis taking him. If Memphis gets number one and takes Williams, chicago will take Ming at 2 and a draft day trade may be made with Memphis getting extra cash or a second round pick in the deal. Right now our record is just slightly better than Atlanta, Cleveland, and Houston so i expect New York maybe to blow some games towards the end of the season hoping to get a 5th or 6th spot for the lotto. That way we can get Drew Gooden, who isn't as big a gamble as everyone else, or someone else along that line. That will all depend on who comes out with year. Mike Dunleavy and Dejuan Wagner are the two big question marks and if they come out, that will make life a whole lot easier for us. I like Ming and Wilcox for their potential, but i really like Gooden because he's a guarenteed impact player like Battier was considered last year and Martin the year before that. Talent-wise, i compare him along the lines of Martin or Abdur-Rahim which would definitely be great for us.

"Here comes the commisioner" "(Smiling)With the first pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks select LeBron James of St. Vincent/St. Mary's High School in Akron, Ohio. (Crowd goes wild)"

Does anyone else think that BigSmooth is a little freaky? Does that quote creep anyone else out?

I think this is a serious Knicks message board. We should keep any comments on here at a fairly professional level. Attacking other members is juvenile and only degrades the quality of this Knicks Community. We all have one thing in Common. We're Knicks fans... Let's stick to talking about that...

Knicks are just half a game ahead of the Hawks and the Rockets and we are just one game ahead of the Cavs so we should finish in the bottom 5 this year.

Like i said if there isn't sudden improvement with this team now, i see them throwing games later on to at least get under two out of the three teams. That way we have a legit shot at being 5th or 6th in the draft and even if we can't get Jason Williams or Yao Ming we will still have a good chance at Drew Gooden and Dejuan Wagner, two of the "non-gambles" in the draft.

How do you know that? I know he likes his guys in Memphis, but most players who are a top 5 pick will generally go. Maybe he will stay, but it may not be the smartest thing to do because you never know what could happen in the next couple of years.

He likes college, likes being with his father (assistant coach or something) and would like to have some fun before he starts his job, which is the NBA.

He has a ton of reasons to stay, the only reason for not declaring is an injury which would drop him out of the first round or end his career.

I think Memphis could be real dangerous next year with Wagner returning (I heard he was returning) and with possibly Qyntel Woods going there, that could be a good team and make for a good 2003 draft with Woods and Wagner probably moving to that, add LeBron James to that and those are three fantastic guards (Wagner is definitely an Allen Iverson type 2-guard) in the 2003 draft, with the 2002 draft featuring a bunch of talented forward/centers and points. Good years to be in the lottery for the Knicks.
