What kind of return would the Knicks be realistically looking at? Second-rounders?

We always need to think in terms of trading a piece like Cam to get rid of Randle. I thought that was the default?

Only works if said piece grows in value. Cam has shown some flashes, but he's still a reserve on most teams at this point and he goes into free agency. It's unlikely the Knicks will match, but it's still makes more sense to deal with Cam after the season if you're an interested team.

Still holding out hope we keep him, but if nothing else his trade value has got to be higher now than at the start of the season...

Cam has had his moments, but he played himself out of the rotation recently. He won’t get any benefit of the doubt.

My guess: Cam wanted to be The Guy or more of that type of role. Like RJ or Randle of last 2 seasons.

Someone else made the comparison: Cam thinks he is Paul George but he is not, his pure 1-on-1 moves in iso-mode are not very good. He can be a high level role player first and then see what happens. It's exactly the same thing that happened in Atlanta. Unfortunately.

I think we try and package him with Fournier to get rid of the latters contract- maybe to the Lakers for Pat Bev and Nunn (both expiring) plus a $1mil contract and a second rounder or two. Then at the deadline, use those expiring in a bigger deal

All things being equal - and they are decidedly not equal - I would rather trade RJ and keep Cam and deal with his contract situation on the offseason. But it's not really realistic.

I'd sign up for that. Not sure there is a bigger deal out there, but it's a better option than packaging IQ in a Fournier deal.

What’s funny is they still don’t got cap space.

I think we’ll regret not finding a role for Reddish.
