If for nothing else its just good business!!!!!
Nascar driver history is full of ex bootleggers who learned to drive in the back roads of the south avoiding the Sheriff and state authorities.
Its a rebellious culture and the southern base found it so appealling. Naturally you add those together you have a culture of racism also.
This is big. Drivers are not just "good ole boys" anymore. They need to continue its advance on diversity.
Is it genuine? Maybe not thru and thru, but its good business and thats enough to build momentum.
Best driver in the world is Louis hamilton!! F1!!!! The real deal.

Remember they removed all the confederate flags prior to this which is what sparked the noose being put in Wallace's locker. The removing of the flags given the culture and fan base of Nascar is one of the biggest gestures i've seen from a sports league in my lifetime.

I am now a fan.

Lawmakers calls for 2006 Report to be Made Public in Entirety and Updated

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Norma J. http://reason.com/2020/06/19/colorado-police-reforms-mandate-body-cameras-strip-bad-officers-of-lawsuit-immunity/

A long list of policing reforms has just been ushered into law in Colorado.

This morning, Democratic Gov. Jared Polis signed the Law Enforcement Integrity Bill, passed by the state's House and Senate last weekend. The legislation, S.B. 217, includes changes that criminal justice reformers have been demanding for years:

It will require officers to wear body cameras and to record interactions with the public that are initiated by the officer. (There are some exceptions to avoid recording personal information or unrelated contacts.) If the officer fails to follow this rule, statements or other evidence presented by that officer may be ruled inadmissible in court; the officer may also face discipline up to and including termination. If it's determined that a cop turned off a camera to conceal misconduct or obstruct justice, the officer's certification may be suspended for up to a year. If the incident involves the death of a civilian, the officer's certification may be permanently revoked. The bill includes a process for making body camera footage public and for redacting private information that the footage may have captured.

It will launch a database of police use-of-force incidents, documenting the type and severity of the force used, demographic data about the people subjected to the force, and instances where a police officer resigned while being investigated for misconduct. The state will host this database online in a searchable format.

It forbids officers from firing less-than-lethal projectiles (such as rubber or foam bullets) at a protester's head, pelvis, or back, and it bars cops from firing indiscriminately into crowds of protesters. When police use pepper spray or tear gas to disperse protests, they will be required to warn people first—and to give them time to comply with the orders before firing.
It will strip police officers of qualified immunity in civil court if they are sued for violating people's rights or for failing to intervene when they witness another officer violating a person's rights. These officers may be held personally liable. There is a two-year statute of limitation on filing a civil action against an officer under such circumstances.

It will formalize officers' duty to attempt to prevent excessive force by other police officers, will forbid law enforcement agencies from retaliating against officers who intervene in such cases, and will establish a misdemeanor offense for officers who fail to intervene.

It will establish an oversight board to examine police use of force. The oversight board will maintain a database of problem officers who have been caught engaging in misconduct or have been terminated.

"Millions of Americans have become part of our nation's largest civil rights demonstrations in half a century," Polis said in a speech before signing the bill. "This legislation specifically contains landmark evidence-based reforms that not only protect civil rights but will help restore trust between law enforcement and the communities that they serve."

If a cop turns off his body cam. His testimony may be thrown out in court! In Colorado anyway. Also no more qualified immunity.

The group, called More Than a Vote, will go beyond traditional get-out-the-vote campaigns. It will combat voter suppression, with James using his gigantic presence on social media to shed light on attempts to restrict voting access for minorities.

"Our goal is for everyone associated with the NFL to register to vote and vote and inspire others," NFL senior VP of social responsibility Anna Isaacson said on a conference call. "… We all have a shared right and obligation to go vote."

The league is developing programs that will focus on education, registration and activation and working with the NFLPA, the Players Coalition and others (RISE, US Vote Foundation, etc.), per Rapoport. The goal is for everyone associated with the NFL, from players to coaches to executives and staff to register, vote, and spur others to vote.

We need to keep this movement focused on having laws enacted like was done in Colorado. Too much time is spent talking about monuments and free zones. I understand that taking down symbols of racism is important but it is more important that we actually get laws changed that will help the situation. We have to stay focused and keep pushing to get laws passed to stop police violence and then we need to address systemic racism in the courts.
Trust the Process

Before this story broke, I figured there was an even chance that Trump and family would flee the country, not long after leaving office. They will be facing criminal charges, in more than one state. Possible prison time. I dont see them going from one trial to another.

Is this man a scumbag? Yes. Does he still have the right hang whatever he wants on his property? Yes. Does that mean the use of deadly force? I have a scary feeling there's a lot of people who would argue yes and that tells you all you need to know about where we are as a country.

According to the Sheriff, she was dared to try and steal one of the two swastika flags that hang in Feaster’s front yard. So, she ran over to do it.

“On the way back someone hollered gun,” Helm said. “She dropped the flag at the end of the driveway and shots were fired.”

“Nobody wants to look at them as the problem,” said one neighbor who didn’t want their identity to be revealed.

One neighbor said the incident happened early in the morning.

“Started trying to figure out what was going on,” the neighbor said. “Wasn’t 100 percent sure if it was fireworks or gunshots, figured out pretty quick it was gunshots.”

Helm said Feaster used a rifle in the shooting. Feaster was taken into custody from his home with no incident. Helm said he immediately asked for a lawyer. Deputies decided to get a search warrant for his home.

“We recovered the suspect’s rifle and we got about fourteen guns out of there and some ammunition,” Helm said

Yeah....it can always get worse. Get yo' freak cards out Colorado.

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/06/30/politics/scott-tipton-loses-lauren-boebert-colorado/index.html

endorsed by President Donald Trump conceded his primary reelection bid in Colorado's 3rd Congressional District on Tuesday evening, a stunning upset that will vault his far-right challenger, Lauren Boebert, into the state's general election.

"3rd District Republicans have decided who they want to run against the Democrats this November," Rep. Scott Tipton said in a statement Tuesday evening. "I want to congratulate Lauren Boebert and wish her and her supporters well."

Tipton was widely believed to be the front runner in the race before Tuesday evening.

"Congressman @ScottRTipton is a great supporter of the #MAGA Agenda! He fights for your #2A rights and the Border Wall," the President tweeted on Monday. "Scott is working hard for Colorado and has my Complete and Total Endorsement! #CO03."

But Boebert, a political newcomer, was able to gain meaningful support in the state as she positioned herself as a candidate more aligned with Trump's agenda. The President congratulated her on "a really great win" in a Tuesday evening tweet.

Her win Tuesday night was met with instant criticism from Democrats who pointed to comments she made where she appeared to sympathize with QAnon, a pro-Trump deep-state conspiracy theory.

Boebert is the latest GOP candidate associated with the QAnon conspiracy theory, though she doesn't go as far as self-professed QAnon supporters Georgia congressional candidate Marjorie Taylor Greene and Oregon GOP Senate nominee Jo Rae Perkins.
