The most astonishing thing about this pandemics is the level of Human Kind complacency and idiotic believe that we are in control of our life and destiny.
We as civilization are less in control of what we have that any times in human history.
We cannot prevent the pandemics, cannot control the natural disasters, cannot control our own birth rate and the distraction we put on the nature all the way to poisoning and warming our planet.
All we do well is developing a new ways to kill each other with ever grater efficiency and in bigger numbers.
And when we get an opportunity to sit back and reflect on what is really important in our life we get psychotic because our favorite toys are taken away and our freedom is reduced.
All this shiny things, all money and power are equally worthless when attack by tiny little invisible creatures.
Why not to just be grateful for what we have in our family, loved once, and beautiful world given to us to experience for a short moment of our lives?

We might not be in control of events, but what we can do is give ourselves the best chance of mitigating them. Properly invest in free universal health care, have proper welfare safety net, pursue protective environmental policies, have contingency plans in place etc, rather than just worship 'the free market'.

If this whole debacle doesn't expose what a con this whole free market zealotry was, I really don't know what will. The big businesses blocking universal health care, etc because it was 'unaffordable' and you can't give handouts and you can't interfere with the free market are the first guys crying out for hundreds of billions of dollars in government bailouts- AGAIN! That's twice in 12 years.

The problem is most of the people have no idea how to deal with their own mind.
So when they are locked in the house alone or with family they go crazy very fast and to save themselves and close people they are running out.
Dealing with you own mind is a skill and art.
Our society is not teaching this in schools and universities. And parents are not teaching their kids because they do not know themselves.
You say it is easy now... no... it is much more difficult.
People have million opportunities our days to distract themselves from reality.

That’s awful, I feel really sad hearing what you and your mother are going through. Feel so powerless against this virus. Thank you for taking the time to try and give us all a heads up, I do hope it helps others avoid getting it by taking it more seriously. I’ve been really worried about my mother catching it (she also would be a vulnerable person against this) and also whether this virus will be even more deadly in the US due to health factors (obesity,diabetes, etc) along with the organizational and health care issues.
