Clyde and Sprewell in the same backcourt. We could "10" people off the floor.

I can't include Oak. That jumpshot just ruined everything else for me.

That's 19 points. no bueno.

Ewing 5 points
Oakley 3 points
LJ 1 point
Sprewell 1 point
Clyde 5 points

This was my pick too

interesting. i love that backcourt but went with an entirely different front line. i wonder how those lineups would have fared in comparison.

No point constricted.....

C. Ewing
PF. Young Willis Reed (think healthy in prime Antonio MycDyss athletic freak)
SF. King
PG. Frazier
SG. H20.

Why Allen? Im crafting a team not my fanboy who I want to see. If that's the case I go with Earl. I want more athletic choice I go Spree. In this modern NBA maybe put Bradley back at the SG and think he could be Klay Thompson type? I pick Allen as I want a good sized spot up shooter on the parameter. King and Clyde penetrating is enough. Ewing is not a three point threat but can also help spread the floor. Young Willis was a quick beast. From what I read he had the Zion hops.

That's my take......

I started watching in the early 80s with Bernard King but my pick has an old backcourt before my time.

C - Patrick Ewing - 5 pts.
PF - Amare Stoudemire - 1 Pt.
SF - Latrell Sprewell - 1 pt
SG - Earl Monroe - 3 pts.
PG - Clyde Frazier - 5 pts.

I just love all the stories and highlights from Clyde and Earl.

check out (if u haven't) the early stories of earl growing up and at winston salem and in baltimore. outside of maybe earl the goat, the hawk and the doctor i don't think there's been an equal to earl the pearl's electricity and magnificence.

The reality was Earl and Clyde sacrificed their games statistically for the greater good. His first 4 yrs in Baltimore he hit the league by storm and as Rookie of the year. Out of small school he seemingly came from nowhere. Knicks lost in the finals to the lakers in 1972 to an epically good Laker team and I think earl's knee was bad that year. The next year the knicks beat them to win their second chip.
Earl statistically got better the worse the knicks got and he had a resurgence at age 30 making two all star teams.

Earl took basketball by storm in college and was a bit of rebel. Naturally his style and rebel nature in 1963 upon going to college was not going to be easy for him. Back then teams played divisional teams 6 times in the regular season. The Knicks and Bullet games were special and intense!
For 6 straight years they met in the playoffs!!!! All but one went 6 or 7 games. Knicks won 5 of 6. 1971 Bullett went on to play the Bucks with Kareem who then was in the west.
Talk about divisional rivals!!!! Many important games and they were intense. Wes Unseld vs Reed was epic. Two beasts in the paint! Bullets drafted Clyde look alike phil Chenier which prompted them to trade Earl to Knicks. Earl wanted to be paid and ABA was lurking.

No points were being considered. Obviously not for the below, either:

All things equal, no adjustments for inflation, change in the game, just best players at the position, in their primes.

Ewing - C
Melo - PF
King - SF
Spree - SG
Marbury - PG

Let the **** start to fly!

Clyde at his best is not stopping Marbles. Sorry, but I was there in the 60's and 70's and that's like trying to guard a Ferrari with a Honda.
And Black Jesus could spin himself into his grave before Spree let him get that shot off...

The big question is which Stoudmire are you going to get? If you get the first Knick year version, he's a huge steal. Right up there with Spree.
While Patrick is an all time great, his weakness was not knowing how to play team ball, he was a but of a black hole. So instead, I'm going small and putting Stat at the 5.
Also, i want to remind everybody that MJax was run out of town because he couldn't defend against a lamp post. So the PG pick has to be Clyde.
And i think H20 gotta be the best shooter on this roster.

STAT 1
BK 5
Spree 1
Houston 3
Clyde 5

A bit light on defense, but this squad scores on you every which way.

The best offence/defense players on the chart are ….
PG-Mark Jackson
SG-Starks
SF-Sprewell
PF-Bernard King
C-Willis Reed

I wish the Knicks rookie that average 20-10 Bill Cartwright were on the chart !!!

if you are talking all of these players in their prime, how are LJ and Spree only worth 1 point each lol
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

At their best in a knick uniform. Not Charlotte Grandmama LJ.

I agree, pick a Knick prime not previous.
On my Knick Dream team I pick like 3rd year Patrick who could still fly up and down the court and had the defensive chops. I never saw Reed until 1971. He was ROY in 1964.
He broke two Lakers jaw and thought he would be out of the league....

Some early video of his career in here.

IF we can choose a vintage I then Take Reed as my PF. Debusschure is my “emotional pick”.
