Either the league has lost it's mind, or agents are straight up paying reporters
Klay Thompson is a historic level long range shooter. This gets shaded because he plays next to Curry. He's also an elite defender with high BBIQ. Still young with heavy playoff/championship experience. No off court problems and has true NBA bloodlines/pedigree.
He's on a clear HOF track.
What may be impacted is his ability to negotiate a player option in the last year of his deal. Since his first season would technically be a redshirt year.
PEDS cycling is hard on the body. What Thompson will get is some extended rest, and given so many Finals runs and those logged minutes, that's not a horrible thing.
Steph Curry can play with anyone and get a team to gel into contenders. Yes, he'll need more help, but his range is basically halfcourt. The truly indispensible players are Curry and Draymond Green. Yes, losing Durant and Klay Thompson hurts, but depending on what they do, they could still make some noise.
The AD/LBJ pairing is not an ironclad Finals winner. LBJ is a ****ty team player and he's aging ( still elite but not the same prime LBJ) They lost a lot of depth and have real cap problems trying to form a true contender around those two.
AD is more suited to PF. LBJ is now a point PF. Kuzma is a PF.
Depth is going to be a problem. If they chase Kemba Walker, as rumored, this only confirms LBJ aka LeGM is truly that ****ing dumb.
