Did the lakers really forget about creating a max slot and are now scrambling to do so after they've already agreed the trade?

He's the kind of role player who looks great on a great team, and like a Knicks first stint Jared Jeffries on a bad team

Urg, I went back and forth whether we should sign him to a 4 year deal, but a 5 year one with all those bigger raises

Putting aside my Knicks fandom though, I do think KD should sign a 5 yr deal with GS- gives him the best financial security, he can insist they fire the medical staff, he has a shot at multiple rings still and it takes the pressure off him when he does return.

sign and trade for KD is a non-starter for me. I can barely get used to signing him as a FA in the current situation

Guy left OKC in his prime for GS and OKC got nothing

now he's older and injured and somehow GSW profits

Lets punt on KD; focus like a laser on Kawhi, and if that fails we build the old-fashioned way

The GSW has Durants FULL BIRD RIGHTS. They took a risk every time he signed a 1+1 for the very situation they are in right now.

They only had room to sign him in the first place because of a historic jump in the cap that happened without a smoothing option, which the NBAPA opposed ( they wanted as much money as they could get upfront) Even though it caused a negative long term salary ripple for teams all over the league ( Last year the market collapsed on lots of players and will again this year on many more)

GSW profited from building through the draft, working a very very clean cap sheet, being willing to pay the luxury and repeater tax zones and you seem to forget that Durant's floor is still an elite Stretch 5, even in his decline phase. He's 7 feet tall, can defend the rim and space the floor. Even at 50 percent of former Durant, he's still an All Star and a future locked in HOFer

If the GSW want to sign and trade him to the Knicks for minimal return and just to eat the contract, the Knicks should do it. There are far far worse ways to use the cap space. You are comparing him to elite prime Durant and not against Stretch 5 who can defend the rim and take the team to the playoffs each year Durant who is still an All Star. 50 percent of Durant is still better than many players out there on the market who could eat into that open cap space.

GSW operated smart and were ready to strike when opportunity arose. You make it sound like they cheated the system somehow.

His last injury was probably too much for Dallas. Having a Gallo like run of injuries. Hope he can get through a season without a major injury. Was impressed with his change in attitude, Hardaway's second time in NY.

I'm late, but why the hell would the Suns trade Warren AND the #32 just to dump his contract. Dude is 25 scored 18pts per game and improved to 42% from 3 this season. They should be getting a pick back.

Talk is of them offering D-Lo a max contract, and so they were clearing space (apparently D-Lo and Booker go way back).

I think they really wanted to move Josh Jackson, but he's untradeble right now due to on court performance and off court problems this offseason.

I’m saying he should be valued more than as a salary dump which they had to include a draft pick to move him. It’s crazy that Pacers were able to command a draft pick as well.

Kinda hoping Atlanta absorbs THJr into cap space so that they can have all of the bad SG contracts from 2016
