I think the 3rd pick leaves us more uncertain until draft day- depends on what the Pelicans want to do, and what the Griz do.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Griz took RJ. I could see us doing Frank or DSJ and the 3rd for the 2nd. I don't think we trade down and I think the Pelicans asking price for AD will be too high.

I'm still not sure whether to take DeAndre Hunter over RJ.

Keep the pick, draft RJ Barrett
Keep the pick, draft Ja Morant (Griz take RJ)
Trade up to 2 and take Ja Morant (send 3rd pick and either Frank or DSJ)
Trade for AD
Trade down
Keep the pick but take DeAndre Hunter

Too bad they don’t have the chance to ruin the first pick in the second round this year.

And if we don't get him the consolation prize is Ja Morant. This is basically the high point in recent Knick history.

When was the last time we had a chance to draft someone this high?

Don’t forget Trier, or even Dotson. Suddenly we have a lot of young players who can play multiple positions:

Knox- PF and SF
Mitch- c
Trier- SG and PG
Dotson- SG and SF
RJ- SG and SF
Frank- PG, SG, SF
DSJ- PG

Rajon Rondo went one pick after Renaldo.
And Kyle Lowry went four picks later.

Thanks Isiah. You were a PG? Are you sure?

He will be luck to be a Knick 2-3 years from now. Name one rookie Knick player that reached a second contract with the team.

Trier is not a PG. You have to pass the ball at least once to be considered a PG. He will hopefully develop into either a clone or close to a clone of Jamal Crawford.

On July 10, 2013, Pablo Prigioni re-signed with the Knicks after his rookie deal.

Actually he could be a pretty good passer when he wanted to be, and had a few games where he played PG and did a reasonable job.

It's interesting that Perry and Mills haven't spoken to the media since the lottery, and avoided speaking to them at the combine yesterday, would indicate that they're up to something regarding trading for AD- otherwise they'd just do some interviews announcing how happy they are with the third pick

But they have already done that. They just know NY media wants drama for not getting Zion and they don’t need to feed that agenda with so much work to do.

I’m happy with R.J. Barrett at the number 3 pick. The comparison to me is a more aggressive, better playmaking Harrison Barnes, someone who can be a legitimate 3rd best guy on a championship team. His value on a rookie contract will be very strong.

If and once KD signs, I’d consider trading Barrett, along with a single additional future first rounder, Knox, Ntilikina and salary filler for Anthony Davis. No Mitchell Robinson, no DSJ. Anything more, I stand pat with Barrett.

Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.
