Kawhi Leonard is three years younger, versatile and fluid as a ball handler.
Start with him.

Let’s not get greedy.
How many players on the Utah Jazz or LA Clippers are household names?
When considering available free agents, what is the criteria?
Think about players who are 26 years old or younger, and on the rise.
Think about players who dive on the floor for a loose ball.

There is no quick fix for the long distance from 17 wins to the playoffs.
This could STILL be a three year process of trial and error, because like no other sport, the components of a basketball team must fit.

The point being, thinking about recognizable names without context is a huge mistake.
Scott Perry MUST know that temperament, willingness to adapt, loyalty to a cause, patience and humility are as important as three point range. Hit the open man.

I miss Danilo Gallinari.

KL is a distinct possibility given how poorly Toronto is playing. Thumbs way up for that signing.

Given what we have at PG with DSjr, Frank & potentially Mudiay, Kawhi Leonard and KD would be an awesome combination:

KD
KL
Robinson
Dotson (draft pick)
DSjr

How about that starting 5!

This backcourt would be the death of us. DSjr and Dotson both have some growing up to do, at the defensive AND offensive end of the court.

Durant is not ready for Broadway
Kawhi is headed home to LA
Mitchell Robinson needs a shot
Dotson is gone
Dennis Smith Jr must continue to improve

Outside of Drafting Zion, any other pick or knox can be used easy to make a trade for a quality player. Im being a bit open conceptual about this. Money/value aside (Trade more than what I’m saying), Miami could be motivated to move Dragic. KD with KI or KL would need to have some more seasoned players in year 1 and 2.

Tuesday will tell us not how the chips will fall, but what chips we have.

All I know is that Irving IS NOT the answer. He will be Melo 2.0 Not happy about his attitude at all in the playoffs.

ITs got to be KD and KL, imo. KL is the key IMO. For me the perfect off season is Ja, KD, KL.

Then trade DSjr and some fillins for front court help.

The Celtics young players have regressed with Kyrie.

Ja Morant/ Trier
Hezonja/ Smith Jr
Kawhi/ Knox
An enforcer at forward to be named later
Closest reasonable facsimile of Anthony Davis or Giannis Antetokounmpo/ Mitchell Robinson/ Jordan
(You need 3 centers)

Then we can talk.

I can't blame Kyrie for all their woes. he played 60 games last season. This year he avged 7 assts per, a career high.
He was on the bench for playoffs last year cheering on the kids. This year was about the kids wanting to ascent. Rozier was a mess due to his contract, Tatum head grew to big and Haywood was freaking out half the season. Im not saying Kyrie was the solution and he for sure was part of the problem but no doubt he is the lighting rod to take the blame.
Have to give Milwaukee credit too, they are a very very good team and have been all season. Boston was not.

How does the UniBrow get here? You kept Ja, Knox, Robby and DSjr.
Not a bad plan.
