If he can shoot 3s, I agree. If he can’t shoot 3s, I reject the notion that he should take 3s just bc he’s a big that can someday shoot 3s.

I agree with that but I still reject the notion that he shouldn't try to expand his game

He should absolutely expand his game. With that said, if I had to choose between him working on his post game (which he said he is) and his free throws or his 3 point game, I am taking the former every time right now. I’m not saying he can’t take 3s down the road. I’m saying he should build from his strengths. Him having a reliable 10 footer and a post game would be so valuable.

If he is actually good at taking 3s then he can put one up sometimes. It’s really not a necessary thing for him at the time being though.

Hé just said he had many things to work on his game and that after working on some more important ones, he was working on his 3-point shot.

How is that a bad thing, again?

His head is in the right place, IMO. Not only does he know that has a big man he has important areas to grow, but he is also updated to the times and today the deadliest big men are those that can expand the game to the 3pt line whenever they want to without abusing it.

This kid is great. Stop worrying too much and celebrate that we have a kid this talented and this conscious of the game.

BREAKING NEWS....Mitch been shooting 3s. This is nothing new. Hes just letting this out as a passive aggressive way to tell the coaching staff.

The 1st time I saw Money Mitch, he was shooting 3s.....euro stepping.....and shooting jumpers off a jab step move. Then when I watched him play full court, everything he did on defense looked easy to him. On offense he kept pointing up....looking for lobs. Sounds familiar.

But during the beginning of every workout, he was shooting 3s. This isn't a rumor, this is what I saw with my own eyes...since we played ball at the same gym, b4 he was drafted. And hes a million feet tall, so it's hard to hide. Never had a crowd around him so it was easy to talk to him. Plus the gym is full of ****y overseas or wanna be ballers.

No matter what position u play, this generstion all want and will shoot 3s. Hes just a humble and coachable kid, he did what the coach asked him to do last season. And will probably do the same next season, while working on that jumper in the off season.

As a fan we want him to work on post moves. But that's like putting a square into a round hole. He is what he is....and he was what I saw in person. My guess hes not going to change much....except get stronger and develop more confidence...I see nothing wrong with that. If we want an old school post player, gotta draft or find one. But the main goal is to keep mitch motivated. From talking to him, basketball is not his first love....hes a geek that loves science.....which surprised me. Hes just blessed to be 7feet tall.

hey i got no problem with anything u said. let’s help him get better and better at what he’s naturally gifted at. if we wanted to forcefeed minutes to a low post player we could have kept kanter.

I see a Great future NBA STAR in MitchRob staying a dynamic low-post player!
I would be very upset if the Knicks Loser-BUM coaching staff have our best young-core low post player MitchRob, always setting up on the perimeter on the offensive-end of the court throughout his rookie contract taking him away from mastering the great potential he has inside the paint.

The only time I want to see MitchRob on the perimeter are on defense BLOCKING 3-ball shots the final minute of each quarter.

Lopez was a low post player....now hes one of the top bigs with a high 3 pt percentage. All bigs are shooting 3s....but they play in the post as well. That's the game now. Mitch just wants to be a versatile big like the average NBA center. I never thought brook lopez would be a 3pt threat. Horford a 3pt threat. AD....the list goes on.
