Davis is probably on his was out of New Orleans, KP's long term health is a concern. Would you pull the trigger on this trade at the deadline?

Nr1 pick + THJ for AD ??

Tough, but I'd pass. I think Zion is looking like a future NBA MVP.

Looks like FO is getting better but most of the fan are lost case.
Was Dice great before he broke, was Melo a superstar before he iso team to death, was Marbs great before he get into the track with Vaseline?
WE never learn...

AD is better than all those players combined. They all had faults, AD is 30 PER player, try finding many of those in the league.

The vision regardless of AD or KP must extend beyond either. We failed because Dolan thought “Stars” but did not regard the process and difficulty it is to build a winning team.

No doubt he is better but it is marginal difference for winning in NBA.
You need better team not better player.
And this is difficult balancing out to not sacrifice one for another.
Players come and go but team system, culture, and structure persist.
This how the best NBA franchises build dynasties and their fan base enjoying decades of consistent winning.
Not like Cli when they put all eggs into Supper-GOAT and when he left sucked forever.

The above takes a long time and retrospect in that you need to have won over a long period of time with the common thread of some players and FO. Spurs a great study but the common was Timmy Duncan in one place for a very long career. Of course you start with David Robinson and eventually Larry Brown as the base. There were rought years there too. DRob stays with franchise and Larry cultivates Pop, then Timmy fortuitously gets on the roster.
Great events verified with 5 chips and evolving roster to finish with Manu and Parker.
Lakers under great owner over saw Jerry West to Mitch Kupchek as chief architects. Of course the big trade to get Jabbar and understand the few bad years that depleted roster faced until it came together. Jabbar played 4 years with lakers before they drafted Magic. Some very rough years there!!!!
Look at the great teams but look at the seeds they planted and they did not know where it would lead them.

This is why Nalod looks at the fundamental decision making process having changed over the last few years. Phil was a great idea poorly executed. Dolan fires Grunwald, hires Mills (after lengthy Mckinsey study)and gives up the reigns of basketball decisions. Then he starphuchs himself with Jax. Good idea but the wrong guy. We pointed the ship in the right direction but did not commit to a full rebuild thinking we can get by with Melo, Noah and DRose and KP. Not a bad idea (but obviously very flawed!)as it did not cost us a future but it pushed it back.
Mills, Perry and Fiz. Fiz has pedigree coming out of Miami under Riles and some chips. Perry had experience in Detroit. Mills on paper has some cred but we fans are tainted by AnuchaGate despite the fact Mills was MSG president, not Knicks president. Isiah was.
They don't bring cred to the table but bringing in outside cred does not always yield results either.
In my mind we are fundamentally doing the right things with this team despite the current results.
It could always be better but how easy it is to type those words and correct with hindsight what I would do better.

It is no diff in any human activity.
You put work in mentally and physically into the plan you committed to.
You believe in your goal and do 100%.
And then even if you fall in you goal you end up a better person, better organization.
And eventually most of the time you succeed.
But this is life not entertainment.
Entertainment is when you get it all for free on someone else effort without mentally investing anything.
You get the trill of the moment but it will never last and you will always end up empty and depleted when curtains are closed.
Taking the high road always taking the happiest road.
