Fuck that noise.

Nearly all large scale discussion forums on the Net, unless it's about politics specifically, bar political discussion from their main areas.

You don't want to hear Briggs' views on politics? Whatever they may end up being or whether you agree or not? Then don't give them a pathway to get in the main discussion area.

When you open up that can of worms, opening up political discussion in a general area not designed for political discussion, then you are saying you want a polarizing type interaction likely to piss people off. Saying this kind of talk is cool but that kind of talk is not cool, makes no sense once you open up said can of worms.

I think Briggs is one of the dumbest people alive when it comes to understanding how basketball actually works. But what did anyone think was going to happen. Many people, mostly silently, said the same **** when Congress decided to let Reggie White address them. Saying some of the most off the wall **** anyone has heard. What did they think they were going to get? What qualified Reggie White to address Congress? I loved Reggie, but even I knew that **** would go sideways. But THEY ASKED FOR IT. They GAVE HIM A PATHWAY TO SAY STUPID SHIT.

And before someone turns mealy mouth on this, things like how a cities finances work in terms of building a new arena or when a player gets caught in the legal system, these things extend within the sports culture and how a team functions or not. But we aren't talking about that are we?

If you want to call Briggs an *******, fine. He probably is an *******. Then again, I am a gigantic ****ing ******* too. But if you want to blame him for having a pathway to say his ****, then you are gonna run into some problems. There's an off topic section for a reason. And Yes, if this Andrew guy came to me and said, hey dude, chill on the NBA players are like women who are ****ed up examples, I'd be sure, that's cool, done. I would just use examples about midgets instead.

This place is better without Briggs' political discussion here, but it's not a better place without him here period. He loved this team to the bone. That's all anyone needs here to have in common. Or should.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here. And Happy Turkey Day to you too Briggs. And Briggs, if you are really a midget, the irony would be sort of delicious.

Briggs was like a chick with STD, eventually when the mouth sores were oozing pus nobody wanted her anymore.
Nobody is taking his knick love away and nobody said we can’t talk politics. Personally I largely refrain to do so online. I’m not changing anyone’s mind.

Years ago we talked racial issues that had come up and found the exchange to be very informative as we had some extensive educated contributions and I learned a lot.

I’d give up CLee for him. That’s it.
Or Mudiay.
Not Frank. I’m really not interested. But then I’m not a pro scout either.

I don't think I would give up Frank or Mudiay. But Fultz was the #1 guy on all
draft boards at the time. Is he 20?

Yeah, but we don't need any more projects. I have no interest unless it's a deal that clears a significant amount of cap space for the upcoming free agency period.A little OT, but does anyone know where Jahlil Okafor is?

i do wonder if he has some sort of degenerative nerve thing going on, his whole situation has been bizarre from day one. Also seems like all the media stuff has gotten to him, so I don't think NY would be a good landing spot for him.

OKa4 riding the pine in NOLA.
My basis for devaluing Fultz is the shoulder thing. If the kid is a head case and can be rebuilt up over time I’d take a flier on him. Our head case volume is a bit high these days. As for where he was drafted makes no difference. He is what he is.

Despite his struggles, Fultz shooting percentages are still better than Frank's while assists, steals and blocks are equals so that is a deal that could make sense if the Sixers want rid. Knicks are rebuilding so no immediate results pressure for Fultz, the Knicks would raise their profile by collecting a former top pick and Frank's defense could be a welcome addition as the Sixers are not as much in the need for scorers.

I don't think the Sixers would be offering such a deal but if they did the Knicks would probably bite their arm off.

The disparity in the standings is amazing.
In the west the second to WORST team is just 2 games below .500!!!
The same team in the east, the Cavs are 10 games below!!
I know its just a quarter of the season gone by but that's still amazing.
In the east, the 8th seed is a game below .500.

Whats interesting is I got into it with Briggs during my 1st or 2nd post back when I signed on (14yrs ago wow...). It took somebody else to chime in and say Briggs is a good knicks fan. So I gave him a chance. I guess in the long run, your true colors will eventually show.

Big props to Martin and Andrew who police this site very well, which is why I keep coming back.

After connecting on eight three-pointers against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night, Lopez improved his average to 3.0 treys per game. Last season, Chicago Bulls rookie big man Lauri Markkanen became the only 7-footer to ever make at least 2.0 threes per game over the course of a season.

Dallas Mavericks veteran Dirk Nowitzki held the previous record with 1.9 threes per game in 2002-03. Through 13 games, Lopez has taken 108 total field goal attempts and an absurd 77.5 percent of those looks have come from three-point range.

Good choices for teams wanting to get to the next level. Nurse in Toronto is doing a hell of a job. same core but the biggest piece with Kawhi. Im impressed with Detroit. Fans laughed at the trade they made to land Griff. Not sure about that crowd but the record is a big improvement. He is playing up to his contract at the moment.

it was a bad trade at the time

Casey has him handling the ball a lot more, something he's pretty good at. It draws doubles and he's a good enough passer to pass out of that. Coach is exploiting his strengths to the max. He did something similar with Demarr. Demarr has a lot of midrange to his game (modern NBA frowns on that), but he was also very good at drawing fouls (modern NBA smiles)

Anyway I think they're all doing great jobs and I should have mentioned Nurse too
