Of course he can. He lost weight and has been training with the whole team for 2-3 months for this pace

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Well said- good for Knox to have that example in front of him- he'll get it- Trier earned props though- I've never seen an undrafted Rookie fearless and smart on opening night like that

"Allonzo Trier scored 15 points tonight in his NBA debut. In doing so, he set the modern NBA record for most points ever on an opening night by an undrafted college rookie!"

Dope!!!!

Actually think Mario looks pretty good. I think he is trying to fit in and not be too selfish. He hustles on def. and has a great offensive repertoire

Key Stat...
Knicks shot 33 threes and 31 free throws tonight.

Happened only twice in 1 season in Hornacek era (i.e both figures 30+).

That was FUN! Perfect opening night opponent. Knicks needed a game they could work the kinks out and get some confidence going.

Trier has a bit of a Sprewell-like ferocity/aggression in the way he plays the game. Heck, maybe a bit like Donovan Mitchell. You hand him the ball and he attacks, putting pressure on the defense. On the other end of the floor, he's fast-twitch athlete and can make up those subtle inches when he's beat that others not quite as blessed can't.

There isn't much of an NBA scouting report on him at this point, so he's embarrassing people.

Exactly. Once teams start scouting him then it will be the real challenge. We know he can score but the question becomes what else can he do when the defense plays him well?

surprised there were no John Starks references for Trier, another undrafted player who has a memorable dunk or two

Was a fun game to watch. AM super happy to be seeing a number of players attack the rim -- for all of the analytics-types it's still by far the most efficient play (disclaimer: as long as Mudiay is not involved).

Let's see how Vonleh plays out -- certainly more athleticism than KOQ provided; and Mario who seems very comfortable handling the ball (and sometimes players just need to consistently touch the ball to get it going)
