Sent an incomplete/similar post out prematurely (thought I had pressed preview). Sorry.

If a Martin/Andrew can delete it...thanks in advance.

At least he latched on to a playoff team. I think it's a win-win for both O'Quinn and the Knicks. Best of luck to him. He always played hard for us and seemed like a good teammate.

I am surprised the Knicks did not offer him a one year deal to stay. they could go over the cap to resign him without impacting 2019. Oh, well. Good luck Kyle

He got an extra 1/4 mil, saves on taxes and will get a shot at the playoffs. He was an easy guy to root for.

Like i said on the other thread (probably locked by now!), he's a nice backup player that can play PF and C. I would have preferred to keep him over Kanter, but the two of them together don't make sense, unfortunately.

He seems a likeable guy too, however Alan Hahn didn't sound so keen on him a few months ago on his radio show and said there were some sort of locker room issues with him, which surprised me.

Yeah, it's odd- if we'd signed him one more year, we could have then traded him and his bird rights at the trade deadline later in the year. However, I don't think he's a good fit next to Kanter- makes your front court very unathletic.

They were exploring trading him at the deadline last year. There wasn't any reported interest. I doubt that changes and the Knicks have young guys they want to give minutes to.

Aside from that, the knicks are hell bent on having one of the most athletic, 3 point shooting, high pace offensive teams in the league. KOQ are none of those things

You could never have them on the court together...yup.

He did work hard to get in shape, though. I do think the Cavs would have been better off in the playoffs if they had picked him up before the trade deadline, as TT was a disappointment. At least KOQ can pass the ball, and his midrange game and shot blocking improved greatly while he was a Knick.

That is what I am thinking. Otherwise why not give Kyle a one year deal and then try to trade him at the deadline. They must plan to try to make it work with Noah, which makes sense. We can create a max spot by trading Lee. Why cut Noah and pay him $34 mil to not play when we have only one proven center. Mitchell needs to spend the year in the d league, and Kornet still has to prove that he is an NBA caliber center.

Why? I don't think you can objectively say KOQ is better than Kanter. Both are on one year deals and we weren't going to sign any major free agents this off season anyway. Having Kanter on the books this season on the final year of his deal doesn't really hurt us so I'd prefer having the better player (unless you referring to tanking).

Notice how Mcdermott revive his season in denver and inked a 3 yr deal, while KOQ stayed on the worst team in the league(after the all star break) and got a 1 yr deal making the same damn amount.

FROM YOUR BOY

Queens native Kyle O'Quinn wasted no time taking a shot at his hometown and now former team.

The 6-foot-10 reserve center was introduced by the Indiana Pacers on Monday afternoon, and told reporters why he passed up New York's offer and made the move to the midwest after signing a reported one-year, $4.5 million deal.

"I wanted to play for something more than next year's draft." O'Quinn told reporters, according to Charlie Clifford of WISH.

After averaging a career-best 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds in 18 minutes per game last season, O'Quinn will join the Pacers' up-and-coming young core, while the Knicks appear destined for their fifth straight draft lottery.

Sucks when you can't even sign your on FA, beside I didn't want his non athletic ass anyway.
