Time to find cap space to make an offer for Jerami Grant.

My guess is he will get bought out and then follow LeBron. But the Thunder are in a bad place with Jerami Grant. I don't think they will be able to match offers that he gets.

yeah, I'll walk away from 28 mill.

He could take a buy out in feb/march and hook up with lBJ or Paul if sht dont wrkout in okc. I think LBJ and cp3 will all opt in.

No one has cap, and trading all your role players to make room doesn't make sense

You think your situation is comparable with his? At what point does every million start being a diminishing return?

I thought a buyout would have bein beneficial for everyone. Thing is this piece of **** knows, he can't ever win anything by joining any team not called GSW, and they need him as much as a fish nes a bicycle. He can chase LeBron and CP3 but his game has declined to where it doesn't matter anymore. That and he has NEVER been about winning

Yep, that Melo trade was bad for OKC. He was clearly angling for a buy out at the end of last season when he said he'd sacrificed enough and wouldn't accept a bench role.

What is Melo worth in the open market these days? Maybe five million dollars? Beasley money?

If Melo stays, I can see Paul George leaving. Melo didnt do himself any favors with his attitude toward starting vs coming off the bench.

Which is why it would be dumb on Melo's part to walk away from all that money...Nobody in their right mind should do that!!

I think it would be a rare thing for any player, not just melo to walk away from that kind of money, knowing how much less he'd command on the open market. Dude is over the hill. It was stupid to give him a contract that paid him that much in his non productive years. Whoever did that was a moron.

After last year Anthony now realizes that any team looking for a final piece to put them over the top will not give him $10-15M to be that piece. It will take him 3 years to make the money he is going to make this year, assuming he continues along the performance path he is on.

If PG stays, then OKC are in trouble luxury tax wise- might be willing to give up something for anyone who'll take Melo's last deal.

Another team thats in trouble cap wise is the rockets- think they desperately need to move Andersons ridiculous contract to keep Capella.

Lets hope Kanter opts out- I wouldn't take on Anderson as he has 2 years left, but I'd do melo for CLee if the sweeteners were good (and buy Melo out)

I never thought Melo would opt out, but he has generational wealth at this point, even I think with the divorce (he is getting divorced?)

I might opt out and explore options, find a better place. LA, Miami, Houston.

Why not chance a ring? If you are a competitor, it's what you would do. See David West.

Why not chase a ring after next season? After he gets his 28 mil? Melo would have to be a moron to leave that type of money on the table? Pretty sure David West didn't start chasing rings until after his contract expired...

David West left a ton of money to join GSW

Good catch...I normally fact check before I post. West left 12.9 mil on the table when he left the Pacers for the Spurs. Still a big difference between 28 and 13....I Can't blame Melo for not leaving that kind of bread on the table...
