Yeah, but we need to hope Jay is dumb enough to pick up the phone. Anything can happen from there.

Throw him a ton of money and get his kids guarantees at NYU and Columbia.

Anything he wants outside of FO control, give it to him. Then try and draft Mikal.

It's a good idea. He probably won't go for it, but I'm glad they're taking a shot.

Its all good until its not.
I like Jay wright a lot. Big respect for his ability. Knicks are where HOF coach's come to die. WE kill them.
He has star power, a "George Clooney" starphuch good dude.
Seduce the reigning posterboy NCAA two time champion with money?
Dude can be the new Duke, maybe be the face of the USA Olympic Basketball?
Leaving the hallowed academic world vs. Knicks1248 trolling fallacies as if they were facts?
I'd welcome him but not as the next Pat Riley, but as the long term Brad stevens with a learning curve attached.

Brad was at a point in his life where he had nothing to lose. He was still young enough where he could still get a college job if he flamed out in Boston. Would Wright, with all he has built, be willing to suffer losing just so he "might" have a chance at a winning situation in a couple years? I know a lot of guys don't want to hear this, but Calipari might be a better option. He wants to prove himself in an NBA setting and he might be able accept the losing early on. Can anyone think of any other rising coaches who'd be easier to poach?

Jay should stay at Villanova, it's his dream job. The lifespan of a Knick coach is what, 3 or 4 years. Knicks should avoid the hot college coach, cause the charm wears off. The only recent example of the successful college guy is the Celtic coach.

I don't think he leaves Villanova but he would be a great hire. Craig Robinson was mentioned as a head coach candidate in the article and I haven't heard or read that anywhere else but the Daily News.
Wright, Mark Jackson, Doc Rivers, Jerry Stackhouse, Craig Robinson, Jeff Van Gundy, David Blatt and David Fizdale are all considered candidates to replace Jeff Hornacek

Why on earth would he come here? To see his legacy tarnished by the NY media hicks that are trying to get Mark Jackson or some such waste of space hired in as coach? Nah - this dude has brains (methinks)

You might be right but you spend so much time arguing for your pipe dreams...... you literally create threads about each one. You should be the last person to say something isn't happening.

Why would anyone want this job? Wright could get a better situation somewhere else. The team has no chance at winning longterm barring a miracle in the draft the next few years. Can't anyone look at this roster and see just how far away we are. DId you watch a game after Porzingis went down we were the worst team in the NBA.
