Minnesota still has Thibbs... they need toughness inside. Noah is going to provide that. Minnesota has Dieng and Shabazz... there could be a trade there.
Dieng would have three years left after this season at $15m, $16m and $17m. That would be a bigger financial commitment than we currently have tied up with Noah. Do you like Dieng that much?
Very true about the contract, but Dieng is someone who can play for the next 3 years. Noah isn't playing. Is Dieng worth 18M? Maybe not. He was really coing along util they got KAT. Now he has taken a back seat. I think in a role playing 20-30 mpg, he can give you a double double and block some shots. KOQ does it for much less, true.
ALso, Dieng could be traded in a few years too on the last year of his deal, meanwhile he could be productive.
Noah too can be traded but not until after next season. Rebuilding teams will love his expiring.
