when was the last time you heard this kind of talk from a knickerbocker

http://nypost.com/2017/11/14/enes-kanter-lebron-feud-rolls-on-with-king-dispute/

“I actually was cool with him,’’ Kanter said of James. “Outside of basketball, I’ve got no problems. But I’ve been telling all my teammates, whenever we step on that court, there is no friends, don’t shake nobody’s hand because they’re not going to feel bad for us. Every night it’s a war. Don’t be friendly, Don’t shake nobody’s hand, don’t smile at nobody because those guys are your enemy. Those guys are not your friends. So I just keep talking to my teammates. We’ve got to bring that dirtiness in us.’’

I had my absolute doubts about this guy coming in with his suspect defense, but I don't think im going out on a limb by saying 99% of knick fans did not think they was getting this much heart and soul.

He is turning into the leader we have been missing since KIDD. I should have known this coming from a guy who went against his countries beliefs, and made a grand stand about it.

I don't think trading him is an option

In a sense, yes, he is filling that role. It's definitely needed. I had my doubts too but he looks like a keeper. Hes an incredibly skilled scorer and rebounder, and loves N.Y. we need to keep these type of players.

He might be more of a leader than Oak. Pretty refreshing to have a big guy on the Knicks stand up for his teammates. The pic of Cole Aldrich walking away from Quincy Acy with the ball just won't leave my mind.

He's becoming the people's champ. He's always posting videos interacting with fans with great gratitude. He plays hard too so its becoming a phenomenon... its great. We really need that for our fanbase.

That was disgusting... fans still wanted him around after that. He's forever a bitch for that

This kind of attitude will rub off on his teammates, and you saw it first hand last night with Frankie not backing down to LBJ, although I do feel frankies up--bringing ( playing with his 2 bigger brothers and playing amongst men later on) prepared him.

Mcd effort on d is better than any point in his career(his defensive IQ is still low) but he's making progress, lee seems to be more tougher than last season, and KP is also a bit tougher. Overall I think this is going to have a positive impact going fwd..never thought anyone on this team was scrappy(outside of noah), but it's been a pleasant surprise

I like Kanter so far for most of the same reasons, but can have done without the sexist joke, even if it made me go, "Oohh, damnnn."

I'm sure some will call me a snowflake or whatever you want, but sorry...not cool with calling a boy a girl as an insult. Nope.

I'm sure some feel the same way.

Peace.

You need that type of physical player next to KP....that is why I do not think Willy would be a good fit at starter...Willy has finesse in his game which is good, but not full time next to KP starting...

Kanter is representing the new identity we're building. Noah is going to really build on that fact when he's ready. Perry's job is to help build on that. May the basketball gods guide his hand

Yeah, the 'princess" remark is not 2017 correct and I wouldn't say it but...he said it to Lebron. Ha!

I was thinking too about the Oak comparison. Different skill sets but I agree with the the initial post. Thinking about how Oakley really gave that great Knick group its identity when he was traded here. And when is the last time we have had guys step up like that? Rasheed and those cats maybe, but certainly not Carmelo. Can you imagine him sticking up to his freaking pal? I'm so sick of Lebron and other stars coming in and having their way and the crowd cheering them. Last night, though a tough loss, feels like a step in the right direction.

And he is someone taking a hard political stand in his home country. And he's averaging like 14 points and 11 rebounds in 25 mins. Not the perfect player I understand. But I want him on my team.

Why in the world is there a necessity to be politically correct these days? Lighten up Francis-- it was a timely comeback--relax

I’m all about feminism but I took the jab more as an insult to royalty and the image of a bratty princess always having to have her way than an insult to women. Just my two cents.

Is kanter the new oak for these knicks
