Knicks also didn't have a true 4 backing up KP. So I do like this move & he's a lefty.

Think the time he spent playing in China has helped him.

Unlike D.Rose.. appears Beasley has gotten better with age.

He & Melo battling one on one would be fun to watch.

I believe in giving guys a chance at redemption. Thing is he's not a criminal, drug addict or headcase. His only sin is being a slacker. He's an all world talent. Only difference between Beasley and Melo is that Melo demands respect with his demeanor and attitude. Beasley had been a take it or or leave it kinda guy his whole career. Even at 28, the kid still has potential to be a breakout most improved player....Or not.... that's what you get from Beasley

Not a bad move.
Instant scorer type off the bench.

Does make you wonder if we are trading Melo at some point before camp.

For now

Hernangomez, O'Quinn, Noah
Poringis, Beasley
Anthony, Thomas, Kuzminskas
Hardaway, Lee, Dotson
Baker, Ntilikina, Sessions

30 to 35 win squad.

This. Also, sometimes you need to take a chance on a guy with talent despite past issues. The Knicks had a lot of high character low upside guys last year. I think this is a good signing.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

Some interesting lineups we could try.

Porzingis, Beasley, Hardaway, Lee, Ntilikina.
Hernangomez, Porzingis, Beasley, Hardaway, Ntilikina
Hernangomez, Beasley, Hardaway, Ntilikina, Baker

I like to play a little smaller and quicker as the game goes on.

9 man rotation without Melo:
Hernangomez/Porzingis/O'Quinn
Porzingis/Beasley
Beasley/Hardaway/Thomas
Hardaway/Lee
Baker/Ntilikina

not bad at all though he isnt playing with Giannes....

I believe Shabazz Muhammadd is still available though that can play G/F/ Point/Forward that is younger
We simply need multiple ball handlers with the ability to penetrate and provide versatile skill sets

Getting FA's especially on MULTIYEAR DEALS helps A LOT
2 to 3years, FULL BIRD RIGHTS for 3 years and EARLY bird rights for 2 years
they can become the next Whiteside, Tyler Johnson, along with continued development of players, could be a solid rotational player like Livingston when he came back with the NETS/Cavs while from injury/D League along with James Johnson, they can also be the next Anthony Randolph, Seth Curry, Patrick Beverely

Regardless, they can become great assets, rotational players, or become the next Whiteside, or Robert Covington who made the VET MIN for 4 years with unguaranteed contract and will likely only get one shot at a decent contract

In regards to Ron Baker, i think the best comparison would be DELLY's situation, signing for the vet minimum and then i think 3million the 2nd year, then 10m per year for 4years
With the way the cap went up, its basiaclly what Delly made after his 1st year in Cleveland, stepping up when Irving got hurt and giving Curry THE MVP some trouble....
The room exemption was what landed us with JR SMITH, eventually a 2-3year deal with 2 player options on 1 and 1's, but the salary just went up, its hard to scale what a player is worth nowdays with the cap the way it is....

Whether BRIGGS Favorites of Jordan Mickey/Christian Wood, I also like Thomas Robinson myself *especially to fill in for Noah's recovery/suspension
Having a combination of KP/Will Herm for our future
a reason I feel we should Kyle O Quin when we feel we can maximize his trade value
though no

Spencer Dwinwiddie

Sean Kilpatrick PG/SG with G/F size with the ability to penetrate/facilitate/ mentor Frank and can play with him as well
though NOT a UFA, there can be a chance that Sean Kilpatrick gets waived by Brooklyn and he is still on contract for next year at the vet minimum
IMHO, I think

Isiah Cannon?
maybe

Not sure if we can still have cap space left in order to sign 3 year deals if we unload CA along with roster spots
But if we can sign some Robert Covington's, would be very happy with 3year deals at about 2m per year with 3rd year team option, BUYING LOW

Do we get a chance at another Jeremy Lin type of player?
the chinese guy that played on Dallas's team seemed like a solid G/F SG/SF backup rotational player that is similar to Baker at PG/SG
I am not sure if we officialy signed Sessions yet or just waiting to announce it later for salary cap reasons in order to be able to use cap space if CA does get moved for unguaranteed deals with Rockets or whoever...

with the "nearing deal" it could be also Beasley guaging if there is other intrest from other teams to drive his price up, as NYK has been known for the past decades

I have mixed feelings about a potential CA deal but I will save that for another day for Irving
Assuming a 1st and Frank would be part of the package

I think Courtney Lee is a solid player that is better playing undersized at the SF position with an uptempo ball/player movement system that would really help our young team and coach develop chemistry and executing a philosophy on both OFF and DEF

does Lance Thomas offer a possible 1 or 2nders if he plays well? what is his vallue now?

Had Anthony Randolph-1, and Courtney Lee-22 from that draft, too?

Galinari too

I looked at a couple of his big games last year against Spurs/Pistons and obviously he looks really good in those -- very Melo like game but puts ball on the floor and can finish with his right hand nicely.

BUT --- looking at his game logs and those are extremely sporadic - up/down.

Also --- what happened to him in 14/15 and 15/16 -- looks like he only played around 45 games total combined for those 2 seasons -- and only 55 or so last year.

Also - not sure if mentioned otherwise but didn't Craig Robinson just come over from the Bucks as their player development guy --- maybe Beasley was his suggestion?

Its a good signing depending on which Beasley we get. Doesn't have to turn back the clock, Beasley does have to bring energy every time he steps on the floor. Maybe Noah and Beasley can give the team some quality minutes this upcoming season. That would make us a playoff team.

Doesn't lance suffer from planter fasciitis, the same foot thing that Camby suffered with until he left the Knicks, so I don't expect him to play more the 50 games and that might be generous

How many times has it sidelined him? Ive had it, treatable condition.
