Sorry Melo,.... he's under contract. That's the ****ing end of it. Houston doesn't have **** that anybody wants.

This is the Knicks. If Melo doesn't want to cooperate, he can retire. The Knicks don't owe Melo ****. What the ****? Just because you have a ntc doesn't mean you run **** over here.

Fuck Dolan.... THIS TEAM BELONGS TO THE FANS!!!! You not gonna disrespect the fan base. Some of us were on team Melo throughout the years. We stood by him.... now he's full bitch made on display. Fuck outta here.

Play or go sit at home. Nothing more or less.

First of all, no reason to shut the door on the trade. Just don't make one they don't like. No exclamation points required.

As to "THIS TEAM BELONGS TO THE FANS!!!! You not gonna disrespect the fan base."

Knicks have been awful for years. The are the most valuable franchise in the league. Play to 99.8% capacity last season.

How about fans start respecting themselves?

So accommodate Melo and belittle the fans? Ok I got you

I can't accommodate Melo, I have no power to do anything to Melo. I can only decide whether to watch or not.

I hope Melo isn't a Knicks to start the year, but I've seen too much to pretend this is some sort of tipping point. This is status quo.

But *I* choose to keep watching and don't blame anyone else.

But isn't it more logical and coherent to stomp your feet and scream things like this?:

THIS TEAM BELONGS TO THE FANS!!!! You not gonna disrespect the fan base.

Melo wants to go to Houston. Good for him. Our brilliant pair of 60 million dollar 71 year old laughing Montana feet gave him an NTC, so he gets to pick where he can be traded to. Guess what? Houston doesn't have sheehit to give back, Cleveland's falling apart, LeQ's probably already planning his next ESPN Special: "I'm taking my (soon to be) 3-6 Finals record to..." So guess what, General Mills and our shiny new GM and his Clipper assistant don't have to do anything, least of all take back a pile of steaming crap no one else in the league wants because a loud group of Knick fanboys have a hard-on for getting rid of their personal pariah.

If you victim-mentality, overly-entitled, self-important screaming weenie delusional fanboys would just stop for a second and realize that at the end of each season you sure as hell don't owe Melo sheehit, and he owes you nothing in return.

You don't run the team. You don't own anything but your own little pool of pissy little opinions. And you don't get to decide where Melo goes to make and spend his millions.

Follow the team or don't.
Comment coherently or beeyatch mindlessly.

If Melo stays, big whoop de doo. Play some d and get those assist numbers back up, GranpaMelo. Maybe get your personal life in order too. Or don't.
If Melo goes, we sure as hell better not be giving up 1st round picks for anything, including disgruntled assets from other teams... But then again, if we do pull another Bargs move, nothing we can do about it but either continue to follow, or beeyatch about it...

I don't get why you need to post that. This is a Knicks fan forum. If you aren't bitching and moaning then you are just here to troll the ones that do.

Oh, riiiiiiiiiiight. Okay, I get it; bitch and moan only.

Emotional tampons indeed.

Many Knicks fans never associated Melo with the team.
For me he was always outsider and afterthought. Same as Marbs, Eddy, Francis, and other outcasts.
But they were all annoying distractions.
So if he will be anywhere else he will be just another name to me.
I was watching this dude that I do not want to watch for 7 years already.
So another year or so will not make much of the difference however it will be nice that he will be gone.
Some fans still want to get something in return for him but for me having him gone is the greatest return.
No need to give up anything more that we already did also.
Damage is done and no need to inflict more.
He is in the cold in NY city. He will not be able to take it for long.

Perfect answer. A very logical, coherent worldview. Equating Melo with Marbles, Eddy and Stevie Franchise. All had exactly the same effect on the team. Hey! you forgot Bargs!

Amen, bro!

I guess emotionally many may co-sign on that post, but facts don't indicate many tangible similarities between Melo's contributions to the Knicks and Marbury, Curry, Francis, Bargs, etc. If people want to say they never connected with Melo on an emotional level, fine, I can't account for somebody else's emotions. But people are just being unfair comparing Melo on any level with those guys. No, he's not on Clyde, Willis, Ewing's level but Eddy Curry?

It's funny (almost), over the years, at certain points when we weren't swirling around the bottom of the eastern toilet, I've gotten the "there's not really that many who just hate Melo" or "you're overreacting, there really aren't that many Melohaters". I've never had the time or the ambition to go through the threads picking out all the user names (many of which probably are the same person) of posters who just hate in the face of facts that have to get stated over and over again. We sucked septic for close to a decade before he showed up, we made the playoffs and actually won something while he was here, he never played with anyone of consequence while the league has become essentially an Avengers movie reality show, and now that we have some possibly bright yoots, he's about as welcome here and as highly thought of as any other of the squamous cell carcinomas the franchise has managed to collect over the years.

Same as Eddy Curry. LOL

You know what is funny you claim that you dont care about Melo and dont care that he will/might be traded yet you seem to care what people think about him. You seem hell bent on going after the "melo haters". its perfectly fine to be a big fan of Melo there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But let people have their own opinion on him. I have always said i think Melo is a decent guy and one of the better scorers i ahve seen in my generation....he just isnt a guy you can build a winner around, he fits better as a 2nd guy on a contender.
You can have you own opinions about Melo, you can't have you own facts about him. Comparing him in any way to Eddy Curry or Bargnani is just ridiculous and unfair.
I never compared him to eddy curry or bargnani. In fact im pretty sure i wrote that he is one of the best scorers of my generation
Not referring to you specifically. But in general there are people posting their opinions about Melo that just are supported by facts.
yes thats true some go overboard i agree. However my original post was aimed toward jrdomc who seems to viciously go after "melo haters" and i use that term lightly because most people arent melo haters they just try to be honest

So let me get this straight.
Most people aren't Melo haters, but I'm being vicious responding to them. You don't compare him to eddy curry or bargs or marbles or stevie franchise, but I'm not responding to you about the fact that you didn't do that, am I?

All I've ever done is present facts about Melo's performance and outcomes here in Knickville in response to brilliant posts about him being the same as Eddy Curry. Or that he singlehandedly ended the only chance our 15-minutes of Lin had to lead us to a chip. Or that he's mind-controlling KP. Or that Marbles was a better New Yorker. Or that all that's ever happened in the past 7 years of his tenure here is just pure NBA bullsheehit. Or that PP is the greatest clutch shooter in the world and Melo shouldn't be allowed to be compared favorably in that department with even PP's rhoids, despite PP's printed opinion to the contrary. Or that all those "assets" we were raped of would have led us to a chip by now, no matter how complicated, obtuse or completely incoherent the arguments for that possible dreamworld turn out to be. And any other of a myriad number of piss and moan complaints that are probably, as I've been informed recently, the main right of Knick fans posting here on the UK.

I'm not, and never have touted Melo as the saviour. He's not Lebron, Duncan or Kobe. He's a second level HOF player that just happens to be the best player we've had until KP comes into his own. And he just generates a tremendous amount of vitriol on this site that is very easily and almost painfully refuted.

I follow the Knicks. Fuhucuque the rest of the league. I didn't cheer for Washington when BK left. I didn't cheer for the Sonics when Ewing got traded. And I didn't become a Wolves fan when Spree got traded. When Melo leaves, he will become just another player on some other team. For now, he's still a Knick.

I realize not everybody has to like everyone on the team. I'm on record as not being a fan of having JR Smith come here. I hated Toney Douglas. I couldn't stand Stat dribbling off his feet for a 100 million dollars. Marbles made me sick. Back in the day, I couldn't stand Houston's 3rd quarter disappearing act.

People say their sheehit, I respond with my sheehit. Sometimes.

Hey, it's a sports board, not an MIT website, right?

Your perspective on Melo is very accurate he is a damn good player. A second tier star now possibly a third tier star player very accurate. What people have problem with about Melo is that he isn't as efficient as he is made out to be. He really isn't a flexible player that he can thrive in any system. Defense is a weakness plays when he feels like it.

Something anyone should never expect from Melo is leadership, willingness to change game. You talk about Melo being the best player on the team, here is where the problem is a second tier star is destined to fail without any top tier stars around him.

What people have a problem with in your stance to back Melo is that you don't take into consideration his lack of efficiency both on offense and defense. His unwillingness to change his game for betterment of team. Another aspect of Melo's game that you don't take into consideration is his unwillingness to allow for growth of other individuals on the team. That unwillingness to change keeps coming in. You know it's not working maybe just maybe another approach to the game might make a bigger impact but that doesn't register with your guy. You definitely don't take age into consideration and the state of the team. Better to get assets while it's still possible.

Other than that he is a good player who I happen to think pulled a great bank book stunt to fool everyone into thinking he is top tier which he never was.

1) Who has made Melo to be efficient? Anyone doing so on this board risks the wrath of Bonn.
2) I've posted myriad times that he's a defensive doorstop at times.
3) Melo's NEVER interested in changing his game, yet he led the team in assists per game. What do you have that supports your whole NEVER DOES MELO CHANGE stance?
4) You say he's destined to fail because he has no top tier stars around him, yet you can find 10,000 posts on here telling anyone that dares to mention Melo's lack of help as being full of sheehit. "Fail" includes dragging us to the playoffs and getting to the second round? We have a unicorn that hasn't managed to do that in two full seasons. I suppose that's on Melo too. Since he only allowed KP to set all kinds of NBA rookie records.
5) When have I said Melo's the same as he was 7 years ago? He's 33-34 years old. He'll be totally useless in 2 or 3 or 4 more years. How's that sound?
6) Please re-read number 3. What around this franchise has changed that would make for a cogent set of reasons for Melo to just change his game, now that he's ancient? Ron Baker? Cheese? KP sitting in a suit? DRose sitting sullenly by himself? Jose Calderon refusing to shoot open jumpers? Noah taking roids? Trying to increase the growth and value of Lou Amundson?

What I don't understand, is your take (and others like you) starts at A (damn good player) moves to M (destined to fail) to ends at Z (good player who fooled everyone) all in the same post. Great bank book stunt, like leading the league in scoring. I appreciate his willingness to even come here and take all this NYC zoo sheehit and Dolan's money when no one else (who's insurable) would. You don't comment on going to the playoffs, winning a division, clutch shots, and playing with some of the absolute lowest level of sheehit the league has ever seen. And a team that manages to win all of 2 or three games without him.

If we can get real assets for him, hooray! Ryan Anderson? Kyrie Erving while giving away 1st round draft picks? Portland's used coffee cups? Enes Kanter and his 70's porn star mustache? No thanks.

Jrod-- I'd prefer to keep Melo if the other side is bringing back spare crp. I'm with u -- deal has to make sense. Let him start pf with kp at cans willy off the bench -- his value can either go higher or not. It seems that his ntc and league value is not high right now.

I understand you have had a different career path than many, but have you ever worked with a co-worker who was checked out? Or simply hated being there? Especially if a team is small one guy like that can ruin the entire chemistry.

I mean, how do you think that plays out? "Melo... your starting PF. Go get em."

Some don't even consider his presence as a detriment to future growth of the young players. The 20-22 shots that he commands which can be used for d development of young players.

I am sure jrod can offer you something. Maybe a good retort integrating Jeremy Lin and Eddy Curry.

I'm sure Jrod will. He can tell me how Melo lead the team in assists and how he won the scoring title how Melo carried the Knicks to a second round playoff. He will make something from 4-5 years ago seem like it's relevant today.

Nah, I'll just wait until you two provide some killer insights about how Melo killed off coaches 6-7 years ago.
Or you make yet another great pronouncement about what melo has NEVER done. EVER. Because, as we all know, eternity past has no bearing on right now. Like on that KP guy. Remember him?

Eddy Curry. That's still funny.

We give insight all day long but you over look it. It's alright man I let you wave that Melo pennant. Your a fan I understand. But do one thing stop acting like you know everything Melo and definitely acknowledge his faults as a player.

I know your going to be devastated when Melo is gone but tell me how he fits into this NYK situation? He doesn't want to be a part of it and the Knicks management already looking to move on from him did you ever ask yourself why? They are in the inside and probably know more things Melo than all of us.

He will start ultimaterockets.com. Or maybe Ultimatemelo.com

He would be President, Hofstra would be CEO and Crushalot would be chief rumor mongerer(CRM)
KNICKS1248 will remain on UK and serve as a double agent
Page count in UK threads will be down by about 30%
And yes Bonn, I made up those numbers. 😁

This coming from the guy who's sole purpose in life is to troll the forums and copy paste his abhorrence for Melo 24/7. And of course, maintain his 39 Lin posters. Great job buddy!

Pretty sure you posted here before under a different user name awhile back. Was this your thread?
