Reports have surfaced that the Knicks recently discussed a trade with Phoenix and Brandon Knight is on the trading block. Although I would want Bledsoe, I don't think the Suns would ever trade him.

This trade actually helps both teams:

1) Knight is 25 and fits into the current youth movement we are having

2) Knight can mentor Frank as a young vet and ease him into the starting gig--a need we have

3) Knight and Lee make exactly the same money

4) Suns have a logjam at pg and want to unload him. They could use a vet in Lee.

5) Although Knight had a down season last year, he is still young and talented and had his best years under Horny where he averaged 18 ppg.

This is the type of trade that makes sense for both teams.

Nah.

He's a scoring guard.

His assist percentages are always bottom of the charts low.

And he's not an efficient scorer.

Pass.

According to ESPN's real +-, there are only two worse point guards in the league.

Never said he was an elite starting pg; however, he is still only 25 and averaged 18ppg for 2 seasons under Horny. Yes Lee is a great 3 and D player but he's also 31 (and we have Timmy now). Just a thought.

Only if we get picks back, Sun's own picks. Lee is definitely the better player

Not a good situation. At 25 Knight wouldnt be dedicated to mentoring someone for a job he feels he can do himself. Plus i dont feel knight knows the position fundamentally well enough to be a mentor.

Did anyone mentor Kobe Bryant or KG?

I think this is being overplayed a bit. Nitty is so young that anyone older will be able to help him but most of his development is going to come from reps and experience. Besides Nitty already has a better BBIQ than a lot of these guards like Knight.

Thinking the same thing. Of course someone like Rondo could help on a 1 year deal. Outside of that mayne a vet as a backup but not even sure how that would work considering Baker should get a fair share of PG mins based just on the contract alone.

Yes.... KG raves about the vets he has around him when he was coming up. Sam Mitchell for one. Kobe also gave credit to The guys around him as well, like Eddie Jones.

Every successful person can point to individuals that mentored them. Even if they became greater than that person, they still need a base to follow and get them on that pass to greatness.

A Lee for Knight deal fits in with the youth movement. Knight is an established player. He's been a primary scorer at times. He would be a welcome addition. He's a scorer. Not just a role player like Lee.plus he's six years younger. We'd be lucky to get that deal straight up.

We're rebuilding. If you can swap a 31 year old Lee for a 25 year old Knight you do it. No questions asked.

TRUE.

Knight is a solid combo guard, capable of playing some real PG at this stage of his career. He put up all-star worthy numbers when paired with Bledsoe 2 years ago (before Devin Booker emerged). And of course he blossomed under Hornacek - so there's that.

Knight could play alongside Ntilikina - allowing Ntilikina to get extended minutes without having carry the full burden of PG duties.

So it doesn't matter that he's awful?

No he didn't. He was awful then too.

Knight is OK or slightly below average in a lot of areas, but he doesn't really standout in any category. I'd pass. I'd look to get some salary cap relief, maybe a pick.

Knight is a talent and we need talent, he also had his best years with horny. he can play the one or the two. if we can get him for Lee strait up how could we say no? he is young, a very talented scorer needs to work on defense but the kid scores buckets.

I think he could really help solidify our second unit.

now can we some how trade lee and lance for Knight and TJ warren

warren is a free agent after this year and i think he wants to start not be behind chriss phx will prob let him walk

KP,oquin
Melo,Willy
warren,Kuz
timmy,dotson,baker
frank,knight,baker
