Looking at the standings, we're 7 losses out of the top spot. At the moment we're out of the playoffs, and would have the 12th pick:

http://www.tankathon.com

I don't like tanking (especially not the Sixers approach), but I do think if your at the mid point of the season and it looks like your not going to make the playoffs, then it's time to start thinking about getting a high pick- I don't want to miss the playoffs and end with a pick outside the top 10 (and there are a lot of teams with bad records).

This draft seems to have some very good PGs (Draftexpress has the top 3 as PGs). Here are the top ones:

Markelle Fultz:

Lonzo Ball:

Dennis Smith:

Malik Monk (PG/SG)

We won't be bad enough for a top 5 pick. If the season ended today, we would make the playoffs in the west. The focus should be on the 7-12 spots, which should still provide a good long-term starting player. De'Aaron Fox, Jonathan Isaac, OG Anunoby, Mile Bridges, Harry Giles, and Frank Ntilikina seem like players who might be in our range.

If Rose doesn't return or gets shipped out, I see melo eventually resting his shoulder- we could fall hard and fast in the standings

Anyone who says there is talent later in the draft, we don't have to tank- I have one thing to say:

Stephon Curry

Should have been a Knick - and yes, god knows this organization would have traded him.

But, here was a rare case of the FO actually finding/wanting a talent, but winning just a few meaningless games and thus preventing us from being able to draft him.

How many first round picks do we have as of today?

We are not bad enough to secure a high pick, a trade has to be made.

A Pg who could defend well would be nice - feels we haven't had one since Charlie Ward and Chris childs

Yeah, agreed. I love OG Anunoby for this team - I think he's an ideal guy to put next to KP - KP would be the 4/5 of the future, OG could be the 3/4

I'm in favor of building a team of long rangy guys at every position who can shoot it. Justin Holiday and KP are good fits.

For those who haven't seen much of the latest college prospects, today would be a great day to get a look.

Kentucky vs Vanderbilt-7PM-ESPN
Get a chance to see Isiah Briscoe, Malik Monk, and Dearon Fox in action.

Xavier vs Villanova-7PM-FS1
I'm most interested in this one because Josh Hart and Edmund Sumner are the among the most practical targets in the draft. Josh Hart is one of the best two way shooting guards in college who can do a little bit of everything, while Sumner is a pretty good PG with solid intangibles. Highly recommend this game.

Duke vs FSU-8PM-ACC Netork
If we get lucky and score a top pick then Jayson Tatum is a must see. He is virtually a Tobias Harris/Melo 2.0;however, Dwayne Bacon is a much more practical target. He is a really crafty scorer, but I worry about his quickness as a guard.

Indiana vs Maryland-9PM-ESPN
Want to see what the OG Anunoby hype is about then this is game. Total beast on both ends of the floor.
Melo Trimble is also a decent 2nd round prospect for a guard aswell, great shooter who can move the ball.

Kansas vs. Oklahoma-9PM-ESPN2
Devonte Graham is another great 2nd round prospect. Pesky defender with great quickness and solid intangibles for a point guard.

The Future is Bright!

my vote would be for de-aaron fox. get rid of jennings and draft this kid (who should be available). super freak john wall athlete who can defend and pass. 6-5 lefty PG
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Why would we be going after a center when the Knicks need a PG?

Yeah center is the only position we are set at. KP is a center. Willy can be an excellent backup center similar to Enis Kanter. We can use help at every other position.
