a jury of his peers will decide what actually happened, and that jury will not be comprised of like-minded people who can relate and sympathize with derrick rose... which is why he should settle. it's almost a given that the jury will have a minimum of 4 women on it. will any woman see the situation the way you do?

Civil case so his odds are way down. He is gonna settle neither sides wants a trial.

And why are Rose's attorneys pushing to have her name release? How does that help their case?

If he didnt do anything wrong--he shouldn't pat a penny.

Unfortunately, this is one of the few situations in which the wealthy get screwed. Is all of the bad pub and revelation of his personal life worth the money he will probably have to kick out to make this go away? Perhaps at this point since everything has been made public he might as well go through with the trial if he didn't do what she is claiming he did.

Phil obviously didn't do his due diligence on this move. Either that or he's already hedging and just calling it a wash/salary dump and waiting for 2017 free agency/NBA Draft. If the $21.5 million lawsuit goes to trial Oct. 4, it could mean Rose would miss at least two preseason games and multiple practices as he tries to get acclimated to a new team.

Of the more inflammatory is the admission from Rose that he and his two friends drove to the accuser’s Southern California home in the early-morning hours of Aug. 27, 2013.

Pretty phucking damning to me. I hate having phucking scum bag rapists on the team. Phucking disgusts me to the core to have filth like this on the Knicks.

2) Judging by texts, this woman was no saint.

By no means do I condone his behavior. However, just cant get with people looking to judge him or his lifestyle. Usually. the ones that judge so quickly are the same hypocrites that have the most to hide. But any way you slice it, this is not good for him and will not just go away. If this was a criminal case my tone would be different. But we're talking about civil. This is a money thing. She was getting money for her contributions. Now she isn't so she wants a pay day. Can't associate this woman with real victims of rape.

My problem with all of this is that we are NOT in possession of all the facts and so comments being made are only going to be based on what is leaked. That doesn't do either side justice. I don't like how this is all going in the press and here on the forum. People are moralizing and accusing without full knowledge and it's wrong IMO. How would any of us feel if partial information got out about our own lives? It's VERY easy to take things out of context or half of the facts and make them seem worse. Both parties seem to have made some bad decisions and Lawyers aren't going to hold back from being vicious in how they attack the other side. I'm done with this cuz I think it's only going to get worse on this forum.

1) Which friend is she losing and why?
2) Why is the taxi cab # important?
3) Why does she need to see the taxi that was waiting outside of Rose's house?
4) Why is her home her work? What type of work does she do at her home?
5) How did she miss an important day at work if her home is her work?
6) Why does she complain to Rose about all sorts of things EXCEPT feeling that she was sexually taken advantage of by him and his friends?
