Uh, what does Westbrook and Kyrie have to do with one another?

One's a ball dominant undersized shoot first shoot second 2 guard and one's a triple double machine probably the best player left in the playoffs.

Because Westbrook was described as a undersized ball dominant shoot first, shoot second 2 guard when he was 24 and most of last season before he went nuts to close they year.

I don't think Kyrie's averaged more than 6 assists a game with or without Lebron in his career. Westbrook's career average is 8 and he averaged 10 this year alone. On top of all that, Kyrie would literally break into a million pieces if you sneezed on him. He's fragile like that.

Let's not invite anymore ball stoppers to NY. PLEASE.

You have to have some kind of ball dominance if youre going to be a good player. 1-2 assists with high usage--no.

We were interested in drafting westbound, but unfortunately, as usual, we picked too late

Donovan is doing what Kerr did last year. He's taking a great team that played pretty well for the prior coach, but taking them to the next level through coaching and scheme

something to remember whenever we are tempted to say it's all about talent, or who cares about the coach.

Earlier in the year I was wondering about the wisdom of this move, but Presti has proven again that he's a pretty smart cookie (and I'm a mere fan). Donovan has pushed the right buttons -- one of which was to go long. They are bigger at every single position on the court. ANd when Kantor and Adams are on the court GS is having fits. (not to discount the fits KD and Westbrook create) Green tries to exploit with dribble drives but (a) GS has been (surprisingly to me) able to do a decent job against that and (b) those are still tougher buckets than what Kantor or Adams are getting (dunks, tip in, etc.)

I love both teams, but you have to tip your cap to OKC from GM all the way down to the last player. Fun to watch. Gut check time for GS, and time for OKC to see if they can "step on the throat" of an opponent when they're down.

okc is a team of destiny this season. they are cohering at precisely the right time and barring a catastrophic injury to westbrook or durant will win the title this year.
knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

yes ... pretty awful! The toronto game in toronto was a great game but most games suck.

The game tonight may be a great one. OKC is the better / healthier team right now and GS is at home and super desperate.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

I was pretty neutral on this series as I am a fan of Billy Donovan. I high school I used to ref games for the local community league and did some games when Billy was like 12 years old. Would not have seen him as a Division I player let alone play in the NBA back then. He was a good player, but also chubby and awkward. Good kid then!

Everyone loves Curry but the grit of OKC role players and tired of Draymond Greens antics have swayed me toward OKC! Steve Adam's has been a monster for them and to me him improving this year has been huge. Kid Remeinds of Splitter when he was the defensive backbone of the Spurs a few years ago. Draymond just a bit too full of himself these days.

I agree. What a last minute. I started worrying that Donovan's t could come back to haunt them. Good t on his part.

agreed. GS needed to crush them tonight to have a chance; OKC has to be feeling extremely confident still

I believe thas the draft where everyone had Westbrook being selected around the 6th to 8th pick,
but the Seattle Super-Sonics seen another Gary Payton in Westbrook to pick him with their 4th pick.
The Western Conference postseason games are to PHONEY. OKC will let Kanter get playingtime in the 6th game to win the series .. The Warriors are clueless of how to win against Adam/Kanter/Ibaka rotation.

Well the Net-Work got what they wanted .. the 6 games from each of the conference finals teams.
Could Lebron-Cavs SWEEP the Toronto Raptors in the playoff? YES! YES! YES! All-Day Everyday!
The Cavs DEFENSE is outstanding! Lebron James personally took time-out to teach JR Smith how to play DEFENSE .. from last season to now i been watching JR Smith defensive-performance help the Cavs force opponents to make 3 to 5 turn-overs per game .. JR Smith never did that on the Hornets, Nuggets, or Knicks.

The Cavs had to help the poor Raptors win at home by not playing their usual defensive method, plus the Cavs shot half of their FGA from the 3 ball line in both games in Toronto (41 shots from 3s) .. The Cavs never showed they were a 3-ball shooting team throughout the regular season games

I thought OKC went away too much from their inside game last night.

I hope OKC can close it out in Game 6. I have a sinking feeling we might some of the worst officiating of the playoffs in that game though. This has a Sacramento / Lakers 2002 WCF game 6 feel to it. Does anyone remember that game? Sacramento was poised to dethrone the Lakers, but the refs for that game were some of the worst I've ever seen.
