Choice of players picked

Kay Felder--19
Denzel Valentine--21
AJ Hammonds--31

My thesis is it give us a real rebuild--more players around KPs age---all 3 of which can be rotation players now and I think felder is going to be a star. You then have Hammonds(7-1 275 KP 7-3 245 and Willy G upfront with two vet)

We add 2 important young guards and ADD 10mm in cap space to add to have max and space to use another 8mm. You have to give to get. Wed have more in totality.

No Ro Lo is a standard piece that we need in the middle
Yes I can see we can diversify the team and make it much more potent

yes, because Rolo cannot hit a jump shot consistently....KOQ hesitates less than Rolo does and that is not good. his biggest asset is his rebounding on both ends and putbacks. not sure if that's worth 14 mill but i guess if shumpert can get paid 10 mill a year....

Boston is going to trade 2 #1 picks and a second rounder that is basically a first rounder for ROLO?

I mean, I like Rolo, but that's a high price and I think an unrealistic one.

You cannot trade back for David Lee
$$$$

It will be going backwards, thus picks ain't worth it here
Cause Lee + / - is worst when he plays in Celtics games than
When he sits minutes and Celtics performances are up +/-

Celts would love to unload $$Lee whom I like
But not back in NY,

Isn't Boston rumored to be waiving Lee if they can't trade him before the deadline?

He's an expiring contract so who cares cause he's off the books next year anyway.

Briggs - regardless of the particulars, I think with our record, roster and lack of draft picks, we should entertain selling at the deadline- not for the sake of dumping, but in order to retool and stock future picks/talent.

Why bother? You are obsessed with adding late picks and drafting players, but you have zero patience and throw them under the bus after a month (see Grant). Lopez fulfils an important need- from this offseason onwards, starting C's are going to cost a heck of a lot more than he does, so good luck replacing him!

Most of the Spurs foundation was built this way. There is no option for higher picks.jerian grant desperately needs to be playing in the d league to get game rhythm I feel bad for him not trying to throw him under bus

he has a lot of patience for his own mock picks. He goes to visit some of his guys in jail on weekends.

Knicks concerns as of late are many including down time for Melo. Yet the most glaring issue is their not playing the D they did earlier. Losing ROLO hurts the D and no one on the roster is a replacement

I think Briggs is overestimating the value of these picks. Historically, only about 20% of guys drafted in the mid 20s go on to become solid nba starters based on 82games' analysis. We need to trade RoLo for about 5 of these late picks for it to be even. Even then, you have to realize that you're waiting a few years for the players to develop. If you have a good, 2 way 7 foot center, you're better off holding onto him and buying a couple of these picks.

In 2016 in games RoLo has played at least 30 min, he's averaged 15.5 PPG, .607 FG%, 9.9 RPG, 1.6 Asts, and 1.6 Blks. I think he can get close to that on a regular basis since they're only a little better than his career per 36 #s. That's basically Greg Monroe production, Briggs, but with a million times better defense. You're unlikely to get that from picks around 30. This trade could easily take us from being a .450 team to a below .400 team.

As Seraphin and OQuinn haven't panned out, perhaps our "#1" pick Hernangomez will and become a solid rotation contributor. He's got size and he's getting pro league experience now. Along with a starting PG, both should contribute to the rotation. Batum would be nice as well

When the cap explodes, $14 mil for RoLo is going to be a bargain.

And if you insist on trading him, then from the start of next season, play him 35 or even 38 mpg, let him average around 16 and 10. He might even compete for an all-star spot. Then you'll get much more than picks around 25 for him.
