Might be a cause for concern...more to do with his outside shot than his D.

He also played beyond the point where some thought he should have been taken out in Miami, and his J was completely missing vs Orlando and he only shot 2/4 from the FT line.

Problem is that Fisher knows we are a better team with KP out there, especially on D.

Did not help that we seemed to be doing more switching yesterday, and KP ended up being a 1/1 defender on guards, which has to take its toll in terms of energy, even if he is capable of doing it.

Maybe he can play D on the perimeter like Jeffries used to do at times, but Jeffries had NO offensive responsibilities with us, unlike Porzingis.

Not sure he is physically ready at this point to be asked to do some of the things he's doing AND be a consistent outside shooter.

Just a thought.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

if he is missing free throws then he is tired. during the broadcast breen and mr. frazier kept mentioning that kp6's minutes are due to his conditioning improving. used to be that players always played themselves into shape, but he is has gone from 20 minutes to 35 minutes in a very short amount of time. plus he is now getting bodied most of the game.

in a way fisher has no choice: kp6 is the most important player on the court at this point. but if he is true to his word that this season is not about wins and losses but a process of learning how to win, he ought to put a cap on how many minutes kp6 and melo play.

i would advocate a cap of 32 minutes a game, just like san antonio tends to do... and live with the results.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I hate thoughts that include having our best draft pick since Ewing trying to emulate Jared Jeffries, in any way, shape or form. That's like hoping Lopez lives up to Eddy Curry's hype. Bad memories best left forgotten.

Agreed though, having a 20 year old star rook playing 35 minutes a night is a recipe for early wall-hitting.
