As it pertains to how it might impact the Knicks, a married man with the "appearance" of a stable family life is simply more marketable than a single guy in most cases.

If that "perception" blows up in public, that's a massive hit to the "branding" issue. If so, a divorce might accelerate the timetable where Melo might waive his No Trade Clause, or at least open up the opportunity to other teams where he might not have considered before.

It comes down to this, does this help the Knicks win or lose basketball games?

IMHO, Melo traded and off the roster will give the Knicks the best overall future in terms of trying to win basketball games down the road and playing the game the right way.

And IMHO, a divorce ( I've mentioned this before, long ago) would be a strong catalyst for Melo to ask for a trade and open up more trade opportunities for the Knicks.

Who Melo's wife sleeps with, I don't care. But if the end of Melo's marriage indirectly creates more of an opportunity for the Knicks to have better trade options and have a better future, then I hope it happens.

Makes me sick to see some lowlifes besmutting a perfectly happy couple. Good thing is, both Melo and Lala by now have plenty of experience in how to deflect smut that is often hurled at celebrities, so this will be a non issue for them. If the two have a relationship based on trust and openness with each other, false cheating accusations will not be able to hurt them in any way.

The whole story just proved once more that Melo is a really nice and classy guys. Lala would never be so crazy as to even think of another man.

I hope this is B.S. This is not cool if true. I really feel for Melo and the kids. I'm obviously not crazy about Melo as a player but he seems like a good person off the court. Easy going, gets along with everyone & loyal I believe. This is messed up ****. Should not be plastered all over social media if true. Really low on LaLa's behalf. Yuck
