First off let me say i HATE losing. Usually i would never root for losses. But maybe if the knicks did their job in the first half of the year we wouldnt be in this spot. Sure cap space is nice but doesnt guarantee anything especially since the top free agents will likely resign. We need a impact player like okafor towns or russell

Agree. Beating the raptors is always awesome especially when they rest their best player because they are playing the Knicks.

What if the Bargs deal leads to the Knicks getting a top 3 pick this year and Bargs is resigned next year for a reasonable deal and has a good career in NY? He has looked great for two consecutive games. He definitely has been a disappointment but his value is very low and there is a lot of upside if he can stay healthy. It would be nice if it worked out that way.

Bargs biggest issue has been health. He had a series of injuries that robbed him of being able to properly prepare in the off season and each time it set him back and he had to start all over again trying to get his conditioning and timing back. Now he's finally getting his confidence back. He had stretches even last year when he started to show what he could do if healthy but he got injured again and went back to zero.

As for the draft lets just say that this team is going to be in the lottery no matter what they do. Winning a few games won't change that. I'd rather see the team at least show that we have some quality young players still developing and some role players who should be brought back at very low prices. That's a net win for this team if it works out that way.

Denver 20 38 .345 26 ½ 12-17 8-21 4-8 13-21 99.5 104.3 -4.8 Lost 5 1-9
Orlando 19 41 .317 28 ½ 9-19 10-22 4-9 12-26 95.6 101.1 -5.5 Lost 2 4-6
LA Lakers 16 41 .281 30 9-19 7-22 2-9 7-29 99.6 106.0 -6.4 Won 3 3-7
Philadelphia 13 45 .224 33 ½ 8-20 5-25 1-10 9-27 90.3 100.7 -10.4 Won 1 3-7
Minnesota 13 45 .224 33 ½ 8-22 5-23 2-7 5-29 97.7 105.5 -7.8 Lost 2 5-5
New York 12 46 .207 34 ½ 8-21 4-25 4-7 8-30 93.0 100.9 -7.9 Won 2 2-8

They have to work really hard to win. The talent isn't there for them to win a lot. They will have a top 3 pick. Nice that they are getting rewarded for their hard work. Wins like this are great for these guys and for the coaching staff.

I just want to continue to build this team. If this group plays hard for each other....let them play **** it. I can deal with not getting okafor, russell, towns and mundiay....none of those guys have really been that mind blowing truthfully. Of course we'd be better off with one of them. I'm just saying....I could take Willie stein as a consultation price with no problem.

I was waiting to see who would start this thread....Unbelievable!

I feel sorry for the knick players and management, if they actually read these threads.

This is why I like Phil.....not because of the GM skills, but his strong will to ignore NY fans and stay on course.

Otherwise, any other GM would've did some stupid move, just to try and please everybody. And you can't please people who want to tank...want to lose....but want to win. LMAO

would you like to know where phil has been the past few days, he was scouting russell and towns. Im the biggest knick fan out there. I go to at least 5—6 games every year and im not rich so i wouldnt waste money if i hated the team. I simply feel getting a top 3 pick helps get better quicker

Yeah but it ruined them. Nellie made all his guys talk to the press and cweb wouldn't. Nellie ended being fired and Weber ended up being traded. A buddy of mine had the warriors beat back then and said Nellie was an amazing person and coach. He has a great story about going to Nellie's house to do a story on him and having dinner with Nellie and Pop.
***The guy I know was the fill in reporter for the Warriors. He covered high school ball but got to go to Nellie's house and did cover the warriors a lot. He also covered them when Karl coached them and PJ.

getting the worst record guarantees a top 4 pick and a high chance at top 3...

even getting the 2nd worst record could be really really bad.... if we get pick 5 there is a stark drop off...

winning is the worst thing we could be doing... i do have a lot of faith that we will have the worst record but we can't be winning too many more games...

Jackson is getting a truck load of grief from fans and the media for the worst season in the history of this franchise. There is so much losing you can ask of a member of the last Knicks championship squad.

The way things are playing out right now, we should have a top 3 pick. The team with the worst record more often than not doesn't get the first pick in the draft so ignoring the players on the roster now, thinking about losing and nothing else, won't accomplish very much.

we are gonna screw up the draft position
