Don't get me wrong, they are all great players but I think Grant's maturity and understanding of the game is superior to them.

have you seen delon wright play? it's not like utah's been playing patsies in their off conference schedule.... sd state, wichita state, kansas...

the numbers back it up also... he's 22 just like grant and his ast/to ratio is better.. his defensive numbers are better... his shot is a little inconsistent but improved.. he shoots 80% from the line so i have no doubt he will develop more range... he is the best pg in college basketball and it's best prospect at the position and it's not close...

Shooting is why I like Jerian Grant more. He has more of a track record of being able to shoot the 3. Also, Reggie Jackson is a very good Ft shooter but he still hasn't develop a 3pt shot. SO you never know.

What do you guys think of grabbing Tyler Harvey at 27 and buying a pick for Rakeem Christmas at 33-38?

I LIke the idea of new yoot drafted with Triangle skill to enhance the systema and culture.
Interesting that Travis Wear has stuck and the longer he does the more I suppose he has a future here. I don't know.
I think the idea of buying a pick for cash is outdated. I can see teams swapping them for future ones. Teams don't need money do they??

Boston is hoarding picks!!!!
Im encouraged with the mid year redo by the team and how the play is improving. This roster is in a fluid state.

I dont see Travis Wear being here next year. He's not bad--but I think we can do better. Harvey gives us that 1.5 who doesnt over dribble. he shoots passes or penetrates and hes 6-4. Christmas (not even listed by DX??) would give us an athletic shot blocking 4 who can score rebound and defend the low block. Some nice seniors this year--well have a field day if we concentrate and are aggressive.

The Sixers have 5 second round picks in this years draft. Hopefully they need to trade for a contract that keeps them from paying the penalty for being too far under the cap and take a Bargs or Amare and send back a second rounder.

Draftnet has Christmas at 35. I don't usually check their site until a little later in the spring. I wonder if they just don't update much at this time of the year. I think Christmas is a late lottery/mid first round talent.

Sixers need to get their payroll to 57 mil to avoid paying penalties to the players. Bargs at a 11 mil might get the Knicks a second rounder if the Knicks are lucky.

shooting is one of those skills that can actually be learned and developed... and there are tons of guys who have good form but never develop more range on their shot... you just don't know what players focus their offseason workouts on to hone a certain skill... if they work on it at all...

getting to the basket on the other hand is a skill that doesn't develop as you get older... if anything it peaks quickly at a young age and slowly deteroriates...

i would pick grant over wright if it was equal everywhere else.... but it's not.. and wright's made progress on his 3's this year to at least a mediocre level which tells me he actually works at it... jerian's #s from his freshman year have stagnated so i get bad juju from him although he certainly looks impressive....

delon is probably the best pg prospect since irving... and to an extent there hasn't been a pg who's been this good in college and who've shown as much as him since chris paul.... what dings him a little bit is his age so he's not quite in either's class as a prospect but he's a totally different type of pg... he does actually have a lot of early gary payton to his game...

So basically they are trading for an artificial number because they end up paying off the rest of the contract of the player and not his full salary for the year.

That is how it was explained when the speculation was that they would trade for Amare at the deadline.

I guess that would make sense to why Philly would make a trade for a player instead of just paying the players the penalties. It saves Philly a few million.

Maybe that is why Bargs is still here to wait until the last possible minute to save Philly more money. Maybe if NY did it sooner Philly would have asked for money also. I guess they still could ask for cash considerations. Then again this is all speculation and maybe there is not a deal in place.

They said he had a big game. I tried flipping back and forth but every time I focused on the OSU game he was camped out in the corner. He rarely touched the ball it was weird. He also need to focus more on D but the dude is a stud.
