We beats the Bucks. Dudes is getting high on they own supply.

No thanks. Howard is not a closer. Howard struggles at FT line. Howard is turnover prone. Howard is childish.

Chandler and Amar'e are a fine combo, in my opinion.

Howard not a closer? The man took his team to the NBA finals.

Howard did NOT want to go to the Lakers and play with Kobe. It's just that simple.

Gimpy Howard is STILL the best center in the NBA hands down.

Howard is not a closer. In ORL, Jameer and Hedo handled closing responsibilities. Howard is an elite talent but he simply lacks a reliable post game and can't hit ft. This makes it impossible for him to close games. At this point Amar'e is the better closer and Chandler is a great defensive anchor. Trading them both for Howard is somewhat laughable, imo.

Dwight is also childish to the point that it's said Hakeem refuses to work with him again.

People always think the grass is greener with some other player. The reality is Howard is a great great defensive anchor and a so so offensive player that relies on his athletic ability rather than actual skill. Amar'e is actually an extremely skilled player and also takes this game seriously.

No way, I can't stand Dwight- he has one of the worst attitudes in the game and accepts zero responsibility. JVG nailed it a few days ago when he blasted him for his constant "waffling" and said essentially Dwight wants to play for a championship team, to be the main offensive option, with no personal responsibility or accountability, and paid the max.

Dwight would explode under the NY scrutiny, he'll be recovering from his back injury all season (who knows if he ever gets back to 100%) and his shoulder injury will continue to get re-aggravated for the remainder of the season too.

But we should trade all star center Tyson Chandler AND an Amar'e who is playing better defense, and giving 16 pts and 6 rebounds in 20 to 25 mins, and has added a nifty post game, for a hampered Dwight? Because he used to be a big name?

Stop thinking about this season. Chandler is/was injury prone. Amare is on borrowed time too. Do we not remember last year. Amare comes back from injury, wears down then is injured again.

People said the same thing about Melo when he came back after having his wedding over the summer.

That won't stop teams from hacking D-12 and putting him on the line at the end of games. Dwight basically becomes a total non-factor or detriment on offense in 4th quarters due to his turnovers, poor post game and inability to hit a jumper or free throw. On top of that, D-12 does not score enough - like Shaq did - to make up for his terrible ft shooting. D-12 would literally bring nothing to this team today. I'd take Amar'e and Chandler over him any day of the week.

We cant get Howard at the end of the season. He will be a UFA and the new sign and trade restrictions make it impossible for him to come here.

Only way I would take him.

And I don't think it's impossible to S&T the way the rule is worded.

Starting in 2013-14, the team receiving the player cannot be above the "apron" ($4 million above the tax level) after the trade1, 2.
Starting in 2013-14, the team cannot receive a player in a sign-and-trade if they have used the Taxpayer Mid-Level exception (see question number 25) that season.

The rule says you can't be over the apron after the trade and you couldn't have used your Min MLE.

Basically if the knicks were under 74ish million after dealing for Dwight, the would lose their MMLE and get hard capped at 4 million dollars above the luxury tax.
