Seems our players hate the Celtics as much as Knick fans do- this game had better not end with a Paul Pierce clutch three & smug smile!

I did read this quote a writer just tweeted:

Doc said Knicks "do a great job of reaching and grabbing and holding, and they do it enough where eventually it becomes part of the game."

Shameless! Coming from the Celtics it's absolutely hilarious!

I expect Courtney Lee to be the scrub of the game (he's actually an okay player who I wanted us to get this offseason, but he's sucked this year).

A win vs the Celtics is extra satisfying, hope we take care of business!

We have a chance to go up by a full 8 games on Boson. That's with a win of course. A loss against the Celtics would give Boston hope at only 6 games behind our Knicks. A Knicks win tonight, would really stop Boston in their tracks (in regards to winning the Atlantic).

Also, with Chicago playing Cleveland tonight, this game against Boston is pretty important. Chicago's only 4 games behind us as of right now.

Agree- Plus I haven't forgotten last season when Boston started off poorly then went on a tear the second half of the season- never count them out.

Rondo is out- suspended for bumping a ref (again!) in their last game.

Didn't catch this. Thanks for the update. The Celtics being without Rondo while we're featuring both Melo and Stoudemire? At home in N.Y? I like our chances.

It's Still The Celtics

That said, the Knicks might not be catching the Celtics at the best time. Boston just got wing stopper Avery Bradley back in the lineup, and their defense has looked much more like itself over the last few games, including a massive third-quarter comeback against the Hawks on Saturday. The Celtics feel like they have a little momentum after two straight wins, and they're certainly not talking like a sub-.500 team. Bad as Boston has been, this feels like it'll be a ball game. I'm nervous. At least we know that, no matter what happens, the night will end with New York still atop the division and Boston still down below the Nets.

When was the last time a Knick fan said 'easy win' and we actually went on to win easily?! Celtics will be extra motivated, and one of their guards could step up in Rondo's absence- I don't see this as a guaranteed win.

If I were to sum up in one reason why the Knicks should fear the Celtics, it would be they have Rondo and we Don't.

Easy Win, count it, Money in the Jag(uar)!!!!!!!

Oh man, you've double jinxed us!

Has anyone notices that Melo has stolen Paul Pierces game mannerisms- ie the smug smile and shaking of the head after a particularly damaging 3pt? Hopefully Melo will be doing it more than Pierce tonight...

Ever since C Lee miss that potential game winning lay up in the finals against the lakers, he's never been the same..He had an outstanding rookie yr plus made to the finals in his rookie season, and has been eratic at best..Very inconsistant..

Would be nice to not just win this game, but a complete blow out like we did Miami

I'm calling it now. I just have that feeling. Against the Boston Celtics. Carmelo Anthony, tonight, is breaking the all-time scoring record for Madison Square Garden during a single game. Kobe Bryant holds the record with 61 points. Melo's scoring at least 62 points tonight.

The key? A strong first quarter. A really strong first quarter to set the pace/momentum. Melo drop's 20 points during the first quarter, and he's going for the record tonight.

I just want a win, whether Melo scores 6 points or 60.

He was Player of the Week, btw. He & Harden.

I wouldn't hate it if we gave out some hard fouls to Pierce or KG...just saying.

Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.
