Exactly!

He was worthless for the most part to that team and its style (ahem MDA)

Just Win Baby

Melo having 6 turnovers is inexcusable and is primarily because he is forcing the action and the ball is not moving. Defensively we haven't looked good in a while. I take nothing from this game other than we were supposed to win and we did. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Hmm, I've got to disagree, at least in terms of the ball movement. I saw more extra passes today and Knick players swinging the ball around for the open man. Novak's game benefited from this today. IA that the defense could be stronger - the Knicks are playing the passing lanes well and hounding their guys, but the interior D is still terrible and they're allowing too many points in transition.

They play defense like that against the Nets tomorrow and they lose
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

We shoot the three ball like we normally do against the Nets and we (not they) win.

We still need to tighten up on defense. The last few games we have let other teams in the panit too easily

Relying on the three ball is not the way to go

Props to Sheed, Novak and JR Smith.

Felton with zero turnovers. 10 assists. Double double

That's why he gets so much respect around the league - insure more possesions w zero turnovers- attack enough so your shot is respected- get the ball to the best scorers when they're open- don't do anything beyond your skillset- defend your man- never stop working-
Glad to see you again Raymond- easy to root for-

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Woodson already stated he does not depend on the three ball, but if guys are open, they should be able to make it at a decent rate.

Novak, Carmelo, Jason Kidd, JR Smith and even Sheed... can shoot it.

so shoot it baby

Pretty good bounce back win. I figured we would against the Pistons. It's good we've established thus far playing at home will be a tough place to get a win.

We're still too 3ball Top Heavy, it's not going to work down the road.

In the past, we would let teams come in and disrespect us at home. Glad to see that the team is taking pride in their home court.

I am fine with the team taking threes, if it is preceded by swinging the ball around for the open man like it was today. Or Melo being doubled and finding an open teammate. But I don't like when the team starts arbitrarily chucking from three. There's a fine line.

Its good to be positive however it is also good to point out some of the problems the knicks have had lately and correct them.

Someone brought this up in the post-game, but a problem for the team is that they haven't had a lot of practice time. Their last practice was apparently in San Antonio. Without practice to reinforce the defensive principles and ball movement, they got away from it. But, they are still 9-3, even if they have played uneven ball of late. Once they get some practice time in and Amar'e and Shump return, the sky's the limit for this team. I'm personally very optimistic about this season.

I agree if a 3 is the result of 3 or 4 passes before the shot clock and its an open 3 they gotta take it.

Also, I like the fact that Melo is looking for the open man when he gets doubled.

What Im concerned about is early in the game, where we get outrebounded. Tyson is the only rebounder and that worries me. I know brewer is a defensive force but he aint a sf/pf and Melo cant play pf and grab bounds and score also,he not that type of player. This is where we miss Amare. When he returns and we put out tyson, amare and melo to start the game things will look so much different.
