I think posters just get burned out. Most of them love arguing - or used to - that's why they came here in the first place. But how many years can you do that?

So now they just come back from time-to-time and do a little "drive-by-posting" about how awful the forum has become; then they disappear again. If they had the old fire they'd hang around and fight the good fight (whatever that means.)

You took a long hiatus yourself, as I recall - maybe that saved you from burnout.

The Mayans have, for the most part, been misunderstood when it came to their calendar ending on 12/21/12. There is nothing about the world ending. It's all up to the individual interpretation. I personally think that a new chapter is going to start and the old one is going to live itself out to its end. For a long time now, the old timers, our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents have been the voice of reason. Rightfully so. Except that the current adult generation is farther from our human potential then ever before. The change is coming, perhaps not in America at first. However, bright minds are moving out of the city and are looking to live the life to its fullest while surrounded by living things, creations that we can feel love toward. Yes, my definition of love limits it to only living things. As families build more love around themselves we enter a new era. The Age of Consciousness.

Let's talk about how WE are the ones ending it instead, with the climate change and the disappearence of certain species.
