I watched the game last night. The stats does not tell the whole story. His defense was very good. He stayed in front of his man and his steals were of the pick-your-pocket variety. He should have had at least 12 assists but teammates missing open shots. He got to the rim At will and was not getting the calls. I mean he was getting clobbered and no call. He also made the right plays that led to easy buckets. Rockets flowed smooth when he was in. Struggled when he was out.

right you can score 25pts with a -10 because your defense stinks. See Amare's stat lines

Find and replace "he" with "Jennings/Wall/Lowry/Curry/etc".

Wins and losses during pre-season are irrelevant.

i agree NYKBocker. he's still able to attack the rim and get close...however, hes not finishing as well. I dont know if its cuz hes not getting the calls or he lacks the explosiveness in his knees. And youre right, his team blowing easy assists for him. He needs to get bigger though cuz his game is built on attacking the rim and getting pounded
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I think you are right. His strength is not all the way back. His turnovers were all from driving to the basket where the hornet bigs were bumping him hard. His one other TO was when Kevin Martin did not continue his cut for an errant pass. His strength will come. The main thing is can he penetrate and he did that with ease. This against Anthony Davis

Lin has some game but he's got some giant holes in his game. I'm willing to bet Brandon Jennings has a higher field goal percentage than Lin this season

This is all I ever said. Bad turnovers, poor left, bad defense, bad fg%. He can definitely score and pass although I don't know if he can consistently score if faced with double-teams and traps.

In the context and flow of the quote chain, my post certainly was proper in referencing pre-season. Perhaps you should say you aren't referring to pre-season when responding to post clearly referencing pre-season.

Is Winning most important or are Stats?

Even on the neighborhood playgrounds this is so, even getting mopped up in your driveway it's so, even on a game console it's so.....

So people have gone from predicting 20 and 10 for Lin to saying all that matters is wins as if Lin should be given the lion's share of credit for these wins while shooting awful and turning the ball over .

For my purposes, I will be tracking the "Gift's" stats.

Why do you say people? I said Lin would average 20 & 10

I would go as far as 20 pts 10 assists 5 rebounds 2 steals per game

really guns? 20 & 10?

I'm a big Lin fan but I'm not sure he'll ever get close to that. I predicted he'd get 13 & 6 for a couple years; stick around the league as a nice back up PG (after that "ridiculous" contract runs out)
